JOHN BURNS, 59, DIES IN ATHENS HOSPITAL
GLOUSTER--John Burns, age 59, died at Sheltering Arms Hospital, Wednesday night after surgery of Saturday morning. Mr. Burns, son of Mrs. Patrick Burns, was a life-long resident of Glouster. He had been engaged in business here since early manhood, at one time operating a barber shop in the Foley building.
Surviving him, besides his mother, are three daughters by a former marriage. Also surviving him are his wife Betty and an infant daughter. The body is at the C.F. Wallace Funeral Home, where firends may call. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, with Rev. Father Charles Walsh of the Holy Cross Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be made in Maplewood Cemetery.

John was the son of Patrick and Katheryn McGrew Burns, both parents being born in Ireland. He married Mary E Sisk on 21 Jan 1908 in Athens Co, Ohio. In the 1900 US Census he was living in Trimble, Athens Co with his parents and siblings. His occupation is stated as being a Tavern Keeper. At the time of his death he was married to Bettie Burns. Their place of residence was on Water St. in Glouster.
