Marion Sands Kirk, a supporter of the arts in New York, died on May 17 at the Auburn Manor nursing home in Washington Court House, Ohio, where she had lived for the last decade. She was 92.
From 1953 to 1968, Mrs. Kirk, the wife of a former Columbia University president, Dr. Grayson L. Kirk, organized a number of exhibitions on the campus and at New York galleries to benefit art scholarships.
For more than 30 years, she was a trustee of the Home for Old Men and Aged Couples in Manhattan and its successor corporations, Amsterdam House and the Isaac Tuttle Fund. She was also a member of the council of the New York Botanical Garden.
She was born in Hillsboro, Ohio, studied art in Philadelphia and attended the University of Wisconsin.
Besides her husband of 70 years, who lives in Bronxville, N.Y., Mrs. Kirk is survived by their son, John G., also of Bronxville, four granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
She was buried in May 1996 in Fairview Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Fayette Co., OH, Findagrave #30924988.

Born January 12, 1879, in Arlington, she was married to James E. Kirk, Dec. 25, 1900, in Nickerson. He preceded her in death March 9, 1966. She had lived in Scott City since 1921.
Mrs. Kirk was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Scott City, and the Study and Social Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Helen Bastin, Scott City, Mrs. Alden Eberly, Needham, Mass., Mrs. C.C. Mortensen, San Pedro, Calif., and Mrs. Clifton Ottaway, Scott City; three sons, Henry and Tom, Scott City, and Dr. Arthur Kirk, Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Golda Blachly, Long Beach, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Scott City, the Rev. Orson Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
Friends may call until service time at the Weinmann-Price Funeral Home, Scott City. The family suggests memorials to the church.

Blachly, passed away at her daughter's home in San Bernardino last Sunday morning.Mr. Blachly, who had received word of her serious illness had rushed to California to see her and was able to be with her at the last.The body was brought to Haven, arriving Wednesday morning. Mr. Blachly and a sister Miss Golda Blachly accompanying the body. The Graham morticians met the body in Hutchinson and brought it to their funeral parlors where the services were held Wednesday afternoon. Rev. MacCormick of the M.E. church had charge of the services and a quartet of ladies furnished the music. Burial was made in the Laurel cemetery.Jennie Turning Rogers was born on February 13, 1860 and died February 1, 1931, lacking only a few days of being seventy-one years of age. On February 14, 1878 she was married to John Blachly, to which union four children were born all of whom are living. They are Mrs. J.E. Kirk of Scott City; Mrs. Jennie Mosher of San Bernardino, California; Miss Golda Blachly of Los Angeles, and Lewis Blachly of Haven.Mr. Blachly passed away forty years ago in Cameron, Missouri and after that the family lived in Arlington. For the past several years she has lived in California with her daughters. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church.
