Michael C. Farmer passed away on December 29, 2017 after a brief illness.

He was a devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Mike retired from the West Virginia Air Guard and participated in Desert Storm. While on active duty in the U.S. Air Force he served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his sister, Jennifer McCulty and her husband, Jim; his three sons, Andy and wife Stacy, their children, Lexi, Carly and Halle; Guy and wife, Melissa, their children, Jack, Caroline, Maggie and Bryn; Justin and wife, Kate, their children, Chancellor and Matthew; stepsons, Kevin and wife, Kim Simmons, their children, Josh and Samantha; Richard and wife, Tina Simmons, their children, Colin and Emma; Eddie and wife, Randi Simmons, their children, Isaac and Cameron.

He adored his grandchildren and they, in turn, loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed by all.

Donations may be made in Mike’s name to Hubbard Hospice House. Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no service.

Chris C. Mortensen, a longtime Harbor Area resident, died November 22, 1991, in Harbor City, California. He was born January 8, 1898 in Denmark. Mr. Mortensen was a member of the Los Angeles Harbor Masonic Lodge and Point Firmin chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, both in San Pedro. Judy graduated from Scott City High School. Judy met her wonderful husband, John Alfred Gordon while working on her teaching degree at Kansas State University.

They married on November 5th, 1972; and together they raised two beautiful daughters.

One of Judy's proudest moments is when she became a grandmother (Grammy). She has 3 grandchildren. There must be a special love between a Grammy and her grandchildren. She was really close to the oldest and the only grandchild for the first 15 years. They were able to spend a lot of one-on-one time together.

Judy was a beacon of light and her faith shined through her heart, mind, and soul (Matthew 22:37). We will always be grateful for the time and special memories that we had with our beloved mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Mom loved teaching kids how to read and taught reading recovery and ESL for 25 years at Camey Elementary.

Judy leaves loving memories to be cherished by her devoted daughters and their husbands; three grandchildren; a brother and a sister.

Vanessa Lynn Bailey Gordon, 48, entered the gates of heaven on August 3rd, 2024. Vanessa was born on July 3rd, 1976, in McKinney, Texas. Vanessa was the daughter of John and Judy Gordon, both of who preceded her in death. Vanessa graduated from The Colony High School in 1994. She then went on to earn three more degrees, a bachelor's in social work, and a master's in both school and professional counseling as well as earning an alternative teaching certificate.

Vanessa was blessed with a wonderful husband, Adam Bailey, with whom they vowed their love to one another and made the commitment of marriage on June 14th, 2008. Together they had the incredible opportunity to adopt a little boy, Michael Bailey, on September 7th, 2017. Vanessa was always so close to her younger sister, Christy Faylor and her family, husband, Cory Faylor, and two daughters, Kaylee and Mackenzie. There was always something so special to her about spending quality time with her family, watching Michael and Mackenzie running around and just being able to be present with everyone around her. Vanessa had such a kind and giving heart, she was extremely compassionate and always put others before her own needs. Vanessa was always growing herself in her faith and loved to guide others through times of need. She was truly a huge inspiration to everyone who crossed paths with her, there wasn't ever one person who would walk away without knowing that she'd always be there for them during their times of need. We are immensely grateful for all the time and memories that came from knowing her over the past 48 years. Vanessa Lynn Bailey Gordon was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Vanessa was a licensed professional counselor who always gave 110% to her clients no matter what. She took pride in knowing that the people she helped were successful. About 26 years ago, shortly after completing university, Vanessa went on to begin her counseling and social work career with Denton County MHMR. Before becoming a licensed professional counselor, Vanessa spent her time working at Ethridge Elementary, Killeen Middle School, and Delay Middle School, in the special education department. Recently, Vanessa decided to better further her career by becoming a licensed professional counselor, working at a few different facilities, including Treehouse Counseling and Christian Works for 6 years. No matter where she was working or what her job title was, she was always putting in effort to constantly help others. For the past 14 years, Vanessa spent her free time supporting two children through the Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision. She adored being able to provide and encourage these two through every step of their childhood, her husband, Adam, will continue this with their most recent sponsor. Vanessa full-heartedly advocated for World Vision and their message, always talking to anyone who would listen about this nonprofit organization. Vanessa always had such a gentle and giving heart and was always striving to make this world a kinder place one step at a time.

When Vanessa was not helping people, she enjoyed plays, especially musicals and melodramas at various venues. She also loved to travel and explore new places. She had such a huge heart for Jesus, and she felt closest to him when she was in the mountains in Colorado or on the water listening to the waves hit the shore or a rushing river. Family was everything to Vanessa and she loved fiercely.

Vanessa leaves behind loving memories to be cherished by her devoted husband, Adam Bailey; her son, Michael Bailey; her sister Christy Faylor, her husband Cory Faylor, and their two daughters Kaylee Troost and Mackenzie Faylor; and everyone whose hearts she's touched.

Funeral Service will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas 75067 at 3 pm on Monday, August 12th, 2024, and visitation will be an hour beforehand at 2 pm the same day.
