Aged 73, a resident of Winfield, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Cora B. Franklin, Thursday, November 17, 1955, after an illness of two weeks.
Born in Carroll County, he was a son of the late James J. and Catherine Farver Franklin. He was unmarried.
Surviving are his sister, with whom he resided, and one nephew. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the New Windsor funeral home of D. D. Hartzler and Sons. The Reverend Richard Thompson officiated.? Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Winfield.

Mrs. Grace May Bair, wife of Charles T. Bair, Sam's Creek, died Sunday October 20, 1946, at the University Hospital, Baltimore. Death was due to complications after an extended illness.
She was born August 24, 1884 in Carroll county, a daughter of the late James J. and Catherine Farver Franklin and was aged 62 years.
Surviving besides the husband are one brother, J. Robert Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Cora B. Franklin; one niece, Mrs. Emory Schaeffer; and one nephew, Francis B. Jenkins. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Services were held Wednesday, meeting at the Sams Creek residence at one o'clock with further services in Ebenezer Methodist Church, Winfield. Rev E. C. Cooper officiated, with interment in the church cemetery. Bearers were Ezra Wantz, Hanson Franklin, Harvey Burgess, Roy Franklin, Carville Alexander, and William Green. D. D. Hartzler & Sons, funeral directors.

Man Found Dead At Sams Creek
Charles Theodore Bair, 79, of near New Windsor, was found dead yesterday about 5 p.m. in the Alexander mill, Sams Creek, where he had been employed the past 49 years.
Dr. B. O. Thomas, Frederick County medical examiner, gave a verdict of suicide by hanging, apparently committed shortly after noon. State Troopers R. C. Abell, J. L. Forsythe and R. E. Alderton assisted in the investigation.
Mr. Bair was born in Frederick County, a son of the late George E. and Annie Riggle Bair. His wife, Grace M. Franklin Bair, died in 1946. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Daisy Condon, Mt. Airy, and several; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the New Windsor funeral home of D. D. Hartzler and Sons Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Charles Muradian, pastor of the Taylorsville-Winfield Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow evening.

Elderly Man Hangs Self
An elderly man long associated with one of the oldest feed mills in this section of Maryland took his own life by hanging. Dr. B. O. Thomas Sr., Frederick County Medical Examiner, ruled last night.

The body of Charles Theodore Bair, 79, of New Windsor, Route 2, was found about 5 p.m. in the mill, located on the farm of Carville Lee Alexander along the Sam's Creek Road. The location is just west of the Carroll County Line, west of the New Windsor area.
The tragic discovery was made by Alexander, the dead man's employer for many years. Residents of the locality said Bair had lived and worked in that vicinity for nearly a half-century.
Motive unknown
State Police were notified about 6 p.m.
State Police said he had taken certain steps Tuesday to put his personal affairs in order prior to taking his life. The investigation was by Trooper R. E. Alderson assisted by trooper Jackie Forsythe.
Reason for the act was not immediately known.
Born in Frederick County, the dead man was a son of the late George E. and Annie Riggle Bair. His wife, Grace Franklin Bair, preceded him in death in 1946.
