Marguerite Polk Tisinger, 98, of Mt. Jackson, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Consulate Health Care of Woodstock.

Mrs. Tisinger was born July 25, 1913 in Mt. Jackson, daughter of the late Joseph and Lura Dellinger Polk.

She was a lifelong member of Grace United Church of Christ, west of Mt. Jackson.

She was a 1931 graduate of Triplett High School in Mt. Jackson.

She was married December 23, 1932 to Lawrence "Buddy" Tisinger who preceded her in death March 6, 1962. Together they operated peach and apple orchards in the Mt. Jackson area.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Miller and her husband William of Richmond; two sons, Buddy N. Tisinger of Trinity, Florida and Billy Joe Tisinger and his wife Mate of Berryville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Webster, Lawrence Tisinger, Joseph Tisinger, Trent Tisinger, Travis Miller and Traci Miller; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tisinger was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Iris Tisinger.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grace United Church of Christ with the Rev. Robert Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the social hall at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, c/o Larry Pirtle, 458 Rockville Road, Quicksburg, VA 22847.

Arrangements are by Dellinger Funeral Home, Mt. Jackson.

Esther Lloyd ColIis, 84, o Berryville, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Collis was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Clarke County, the daughter of Vernon and Minnie Jenkins Lloyd. She was a homemaker and a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.

She married William Edgar Collis on Nov. 4, 1935, in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Surviving with her husband, are a son, Carl Collie of Leesburt, a daughter, Iris Tisinger of Trinity, Fla.; a brother, William R. Lloyd of Bluemont; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, Berryville, with the Rev. William K. Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Pallbearers will be Philip Lloyd, Jerry Beydler, Donald Lewis, Eugene White, Jerry Dillow, and Thomas Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville. Memorials may be made to Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, 210 East Main St., Berryville 22611.
