Margie L. Polk Getz, 100, of Forestville, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Life Care Center in New Market, where she had lived for five years.
Mrs.Getz was born Aug. 7, 1905 in Conicville and was a daughter of the late Joseph M. Polk Sr. and Lura Dellinger Polk.
She graduated from Harrisonburg Normal School, now James Madison University and was a former schoolteacher in Shenandoah County. She was a member of Solomon's Lutheran Church in Forestville.
Her husband, Charles W. Getz Sr., preceded her in death May 30, 1991.
Survivors include a son, Charles W. 'C.W.' Getz Jr. of Quicksburg; a sister, Margauerite Tisinger of Tandem House in Woodstock; and three grandchildren.
Burial in the Solomon's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
At Mrs. Getz's request, the casket will remain closed at
the church following the service.

Wilma Carlene Myers Phillips, 89, of 1952 Shady Lane in New Market died Tuesday Sept. 14,2004, at her home following a brief illness.
Mrs, Phillips was born Jan. 22, 1915 in Forestville and was a daughter of Roy and Georgia Zirkle Myers.
She was postmaster in Forestville for 15 years and was a member of Solomon's Lutheran Church in Forestville.
On April 7, 1934, she married Robert V. Phillips Sr. who preceded her in death, Sept.7, 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Robert V. Phillips Jr. of New Market and Charles E. Phillips of Burke; two daughters, Dorothy Getz of Quicksburg and Mary Andrews of Woodbridge; a sister, Dorothy Swank of Linville; 12 grandchldren and 17 great grandchildren.
Burial at Solomon's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Connie Lee Funkhouser Polk, 83, of Mount Jackson, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Consulate Health Care of Woodstock.
Mrs. Polk was born May 24, 1926, in Macanie, daughter of the late Joseph Hickman and Mary Barb Funkhouser.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Mount Jackson and the Ladies Auxiliary of Massanutten Post No. 2447 VFW Edinburg.
Mrs. Polk was a former employee of Windsor Knit, Aileen Inc., and a baker at Shrine Mont.
She was married Sept. 25, 1943, to Joseph Marshall "Bill" Polk, who preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Polk Lear and husband, Scott, and Gayle Polk Wellard and husband, Stanley, all of Woodstock; a brother, Daniel S. Funkhouser of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Kevin S. Lear and wife, Cara; Anissa D. Powers and husband, Matt; Joseph L. Lear and wife, Annette; Brandon J.P. Wellard and wife, Meghann; and Jessica A. Wellard; eight great-grandchildren, Darden and Kerington Lear, Aiden and Marshall Powers, Brian and Michael Lear and Ava and Lillian Wellard.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ with the Rev. Robert Harmon and Pastor Joseph Lear officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 115, Mount Jackson, VA 22842, or Active Living Center, 510 Picadilly Street, Edinburg, VA 22824.
Cremation arrangements are by Dellinger Funeral Home in Mount Jackson.
