Donald Hastings 86 of Elyria passed away Sunday February 21, 2016 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon. He was born October 13, 1929 in Batesville, Ohio and was a graduate of Batesville High School. Donald worked for Nordsons as a patent engineer, where he had 30 patents to his name. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion in Amherst. Upon his retirement Donald enjoyed volunteering as a tutor at Crestwood Elementery School.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years Eileen (nee Booth), daughter Sharon (David) Jacobson of St. Petersburg, Florida, grandchildren Adam, Maya, and Noam Jacobson: brothers Dean (Lillian) of Elyria, Hugh (Ruth) Of Columbus, and Lonnie (Vivian) of Lancaster, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie (nee Booth), parents Roy and Eleanor (nee Cline), and a brother Bobby.
All services and burial will be in Quaker City, Ohio, with military honors.
He was buried in February 2016 in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, Guernsey Co., OH, Findagrave #158446385.
Donald Ronald Hastings began military service Korean War service, U.S. Army.
