Dell, Ralph J. age 71, of 236 Mitchel Road, Wilmington, Ohio, died at 3:10 AM, Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at his residence. Mr. Dell was born September 5, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ralph E. and Nellie E. Touhey Dell. Mr. Dell married his wife of 49 years Rita Clark Dell, on June 9, 1951. Mr. Dell was a member of the St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Wilmington. He was a supervisor with Monsanto in Miamisburg, Ohio, retiring after 30 years of employment. Mr. Dell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dell is survived by three sons; Rick (Debbie Purkey) Dell - Martinsville, Ohio, Randy (Diane Webb) Dell - Wilmington, Ohio, Rex (Debbie Schroeder) Dell; two daughters: Robyn Dell (Steve) King - Clarksville, Ohio, Renee Dell (Brett) Hollingsworth - Clarksville, Ohio; three sisters: Eleanor Kohlmann- Dayton, Ohio, Betty Greger - Dayton, Ohio. Shirley Geiger - Waynesville, Ohio; 20 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 9, 2000 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church with celebrant Rev. James Wedig. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery, Corwin Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, (prayers will be held at 8:00 PM), Thursday, November 8, 2000 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. GREGER, William J. “Bill” started his eternal journey peacefully surrounded by family and staff from Walnut Creek and Hospice on October 4, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty; daughters, Patty and Mary Kay (Chuck-his “sixth child”); sons, Paul (Maribeth), Larry and Tom (Laura); nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren (and one on the way); brother, Jim Greger. His dedication to his family, most evident at his recent ninety fifth birthday party, was matched by the dedication to his community having served as Chief and member of Box 21 for more than fifty years, Grand Knight and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4022 for more than fifty years, filming the City of Kettering Council meetings, forming the Veterans Association at St. Leonard’s Retirement Community, and reading at mass at St. Albert’s and St. Leonard’s. Job well done my good and faithful servant! Arrangements being handled by Westbrock Funeral Home. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Far Hills Avenue to occur on Monday, October 8th at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, pay it forward to your favorite charity, perform a random act of kindness, love your families like Bill/Dad loved us.
