Craig E. Lamps, 58, of 39 5N 35th Road, La Salle died at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 12, 2007, in St. Francis Medical Center, where he had been a patient for one day.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hurst Funeral Home, La Salle with the Rev. Timothy Kenyon officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following services with burial later at St. Vincent's Cemetery, La Salle.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Mr. Lamps was born Dec. 21, 1948, in Mendota to Everett and Francis (Urish) Lamps. He married Sharon Sellett on Nov. 11, 1972.

He farmed and drove a truck for KMB in La Salle and was a member of Illinois National Guard.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Peru; American Hackney Association, where he also judged horses; and Teamsters Local 722.

Survivors include his wife; his father of Peru; one daughter, Tiffany (Doug) Marchesi of Standard; two sons, Craig A. (Kristin) Lamps of La Salle and Andrew Lamps of Peru; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Bruce (Beverly) Lamps and Brian (Mary) Lamps, both of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Brian L. Lamps, 70, of 1502 Sunset Dr., Peru, died at 2:25 PM on November 11 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru with Pastor Timothy J. Kenyon officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be in St. John’s Lutheran Church on Sunday from 4-7:00 PM. Additional visitation will on Monday from 10:00AM until time of services in the church. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting his family with arrangements.

Mr. Lamps was born in Mendota on July 28, 1945 to Everett and Frances (Urish) Lamps. He married Mary J. Twait in St. John’s Lutheran Church on March 29, 1969. Brian graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School and LPO Junior College. He was founder of Lamps Home Improvement for over 40 years. He was also a lifetime farmer.

Brian served in the US National Guard for five and half years. He was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he was very active with the council and the building & grounds. Brian served on the Board of Directors for Peru Federal Savings Bank. He enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball. He was a hard worker with great family values. He cherished family fishing trips. His joy was spending time with his grandchildren and their activities. He was a self-made mentor, teacher, and healer with his sense of humor.
