Kimberly Sue Bowers, 59 of Earlham passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, November 15th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Earlham. Kimberly was born February 8, 1960 to Donald and Jeanne Baumann in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Lacona and Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. She attended school at Melcher-Dallas and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School with the class of 1978. Kimberly was united in marriage to Joseph Bowers on October 8, 1980 in Melcher-Dallas. To this union two children were born, Joseph and Amanda. The family made their home in Melcher-Dallas, before later moving to Piedmont, Missouri, Irvington, Alabama and lastly settling in Earlham.
She worked as a teacher’s aide, decorated cakes and worked a promotional job. She loved cooking, baking and was a very talented cake decorator. Kimberly also enjoyed gardening and tending to flowers, most of all she treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, Joseph of Earlham; son, Joseph of Earlham; daughter Amanda (Phil) Renze of Omaha; grandsons, Drew and Jarett; siblings: Debbie Caikoski, Terry Bauman, Randy Bauman and Scott Bauman.

Homer N. Klahn, 87, passed away April 15th, 2018 in Fort Collins, CO surrounded by loved ones.
Homer was born on June 14th, 1930 to Herman F. and Olive V. (Birchard) Klahn in Treynor, Iowa.
Homer was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army after serving nearly two years in the Korean War. He enjoyed flower gardening, filming in the mountains, elk hunting, and gold prospecting. Homer farmed for several years in Iowa, worked in construction, and worked many other jobs throughout his life.
Homer is survived by eight children: Linda Klahn, David Klahn, Carol (Jerry) Klahn Zadina, Darrell Klahn, Sue (Michael) Cavalieri, Doug (April) Klahn, John (Sarah) Klahn, and Steve (Alma) Klahn; seventeen grandchildren; Bill, Molly, Jenny, Mindy, Jerry, Emily, Ashley, Shayla, Danny, Jon, Michael, Tiana, Kaitlyn, Cassidy, Nick, Sierra, and Agatha; numerous great-grandchildren, and one brother Fred (Peg) Klahn.
Homer was preceded in death by: both parents; wife Sharon; brothers, Howard, Henry, and Stan; sisters, Dorothy, Rose, and Lois.

OXFORD -- Memorial services for Mrs. Geraldine J. Honts, 86, will be held at First Baptist Church of Williams, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Michael Gilver officiating.
Mrs. Honts passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Oxford.
Mrs. Honts is survived by her son Lester Honts, Jr., and wife Regina of of Oxford, sisters, Wilma Eastrige, Darline Batton and Linda Bishop all of Des Moines, Iowa; brother William Bishop, Jr., of Port Charlotte, Fla., grandchildren, Jonathan Honts, Lori Fincher; great grandchildren, Kortney Honts and Mathew Honts.
Mrs. Honts was a native of Des Moines, Iowa and Calhoun County resident for most of her life. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Honts Sr., parents and a sister.

Samuel L. (Roy) Sanders, son of Alvis and Betsy Sanders was born in Marion County August 22, 1891 [1893] and passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, October 20, 1956 at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 28 days. He was united in marriage to Margery Koons on October 22, 1919.
Surviving are his wife Margery, two sons William Alvis of Enid, Oklahoma, Richard Lee of Des Moines and one daughter, Martha Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one grandson, LeRoy Alvis Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado, four sisters; Nettie Cowman of Knoxville; Margie Habelitz , Des Moines; Beulah Clark, Pomona, California and Dorothy Scott, LaCracenta, California; three brothers, Charles of Des Moines; George of Beaverton, Ore., and Bill of Cardiff, California.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, four sisters and one brother, also one grandson, Rickey Lee. He was a World War I veteran. Also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 738, Des Moines. He was a loving husband and kind father, always ready to give a helping hand. He had a host of relatives and friends and was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 24, 1956, at 2:00 p.m. from the First Methodist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Arthur Nichols officiating and Rev. M. D. Summerbell assisting. Interment was in Dunreath cemetery under auspices of V.F.W. Post No. 738, Des Moines.
