MARTIN-REIFEL

Palm foliage surrounded altar vases filled with white gladioli and chrysanthemums at the Christ the King Catholic church yesterday morning when Miss Margery Susan Marin and Mr. Larry Gene Reifel were married. Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Martin of Overland Park and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold L. Reifel of Mission are parents of the couple , for whom Msgr. Vincent L. Kearney officiated.

The bride selected a Grecian gown of silk crepe. A braided jeweled belt accented the Empire bodice, and crystals formed cuffs on the bracelet-length sleeves. A chapel train draped from the back, and a petal cluster of lace and pearls held her veil. She carried a cascade of white glamellias, stephanotis and ivy.

Gowned in maize chiffon and linen were Mrs. Leonard L. Martin III, the matron of Honor, and the bridesmaids, Mrs. Robert R. Reifel and Miss Constance Cogswell of Louisville, Ky. Each carried a single yellow glamellia.

From Des Plains, Ill, came Mr. Dennis Reifel to serve as the best man for his borther. Mr. Robert Reifel and Mr. Michael Martin of Notre Dame, Ind., brothers of the couple, were the groomsmen, and seating the guests were Mr. Louis Burkhart of Kansas City, Kansas, Mr. Leonard L. Martin III, the bride's cousin, and Mr. Kenneth Kranz and Mr. Anthony Hemley, both of Mission.

The Indian Hills Country club was the setting for the reception. After a honeymoon in Europe, the couple will live here.

NOTE: Two children to this marriage, per her father's obituary.

Margery Susan Martin and Lawrence Gene Reifel were divorced before March 1981. She died on 10 October 2008 in Johnson Co., KS.

Margery Susan Martin lived in 1996 in Lenexa, Johnson Co., KS. She lived between 1993 and 2008 in Shawnee Mission, Johnson Co., KS.
