Thrilda Baggett Pollard, age 89, of Moore, Oklahoma., passed away August 24, 2012, surrounded by her family and friends.
Thrilda was born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky., and lived her youth in Pineville, with her parents Charlie Lee and Susie Tyner Baggett. Charles Willis Baggett (deceased) and Donnie Baggett (Barbara Bordelon)of Alexandria. She also had two sisters Teresa (deceased) and BB Spurgeon (Jake Spurgeon, deceased) Moore, Oklahama.
During her early adult years, Thrilda was employed as a professional photographer; she was also a make-up artist for The Little Theatre in Alexandria. During this time she volunteered many hours at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria as well as the United Service Organization (USO). She was a charter member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial.
In the early 1960's she met and married the love of her life Colonel (Ret) Thomas David Pollard (deceased) and together they moved their families to Barnesville, Georgia. In the mid 1970's Tom and Thrilda moved to Destin, Florida where they lived until Tom's death in September 2010.
During the last two years of her life Thrilda lived with her sister in Moore,Oklahoma.
Her children and families are as follows: One son and daughter-in-law; Three daughters and two sons-in-law; sixteen grandchildren She has 39 great-grandchildren and would have welcomed another baby boy in November. She is also survived by one very lucky niece, Tracy.
Preceded by her daughter Thrilda Suzanne "Susie" Pollard.
During the last five months Thrilda was thankful for the support and care she received from her sister and niece and friends, as well as the staff at Brookhaven Extended Care and Norman Specialty Hospital.
A graveside service and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in honor of Thrilda Pollard may be made to the Cedars Cancer Institute, 2155 Guy St. Suite 900 Montreal, Quebec, Canada H3H-2R9 (514-931-5656) or the Women's Memorial Foundation Dept. 560 Washington, DC 20042-0560 (703-533-1155).
It is said death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Thrilda left us with memories no one can steal.

16 Junior Achievers to attend conference
Sixteen metropolitan area Junior Achievers will be among more than 1,200 from an 11-state Midwest region at a three-day conference in Chicago Monday through Wednesday.
The delegates represent over 46,000 high school students operating more than 2,000 JA companies in the region.
Delegates will exchange ideas on the operations of their mini-corporations. They will discuss production and sales incentives, management and marketing techniques and evaluate the products they have produced. Mock sales demonstrations will be conducted.

Linda Kay Loane, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Loane of 643 Dundee Ave., has enlisted in the army. She left for basic training at Ft. Jackson, S.C., Thursday.

Enlistment aide returns
Army Private Linda K. Loane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Loane of 634 Dundee Ave., has returned to the Waterloo area as a 30-day "recruiter aide" to Ft. Hood, Texas.
During her 30-day appointment, she will help metro area recruiters produce enlistment leads.
She enlisted in the Army's delayed entry program while a senior at Central High last November, and entered active duty after her graduation in March 1977.
After basic training at Ft. Jackson S.C., she received food service training at the U. S. Army Quartermaster School at Ft. Lee, Va.
While at Central, she played volleyball and basketball.

Michael David Loane of Scroggins, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 03, 2018 in Tyler, Texas. He was born August 1, 1962 in Long Beach, California to Bert and Dolores Loane.
Michael honorably served in the United States Army and was employed by Brookshire’s Grocery Store in Mount Vernon.
He leaves his mother, Dolores Loane; brother, Richard and his wife Tracy Loane of Temple, Texas; sister, Cynthia and her husband John Roberts of Copperas Cove, Texas; nephews, Billy Lee Beegle and Julian Long; numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and a sister, Linda Gray.

Michael David Loane has enlisted in the U.S. Army Delayed Entry Program and will depart Jan. 27 for basic training and advanced training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He will serve as a light wheel vehicle/power generation repairer at Fort Campbell Ky. Loane is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Loane of 634 Dundee Ave., and is attending Central High School.
