Ramey, Pearl

Pearl Ramey, 93, passed away January 31, 2014, at the Sanctuary of Holy Cross Nursing Home in South Bend, IN.

Born July 2, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Louse (Schmieder) Mueller.

On June 26, 1943, Pearl married Thomas A. Ramey. He preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, Jeanne (Jim) Ely of Houston, TX; Thomas (JoAnne) Ramey of Granger, IN; and Dan (Melody) Ramey of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren, John (Meagan) Valenzano of Houston, TX; Teri (John) Neumann of Houston, TX; Jeffrey (Margaret) Ramey of Oak Creek, WI; Jennifer (Michael) Benassi of Mishawaka, IN; and Daniel, Rebecca, Jack, Claire and Chloe, all of Tucson, AZ; and six great-grandchildren, Brian, Jacob, Sophie, Jake, Sam and Charlie.

Pearl was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was giving to everyone she met and will be remembered for being a great friend. She was a lifelong avid bridge player. She loved reading, roses, cats, and played tennis into her late sixties. Pearl was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI and was active in volunteer services, Red Cross, Put & Take Shop, and Valpo Guild. She lived a long and fulfilled life, but will still be missed dearly.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 12th at the Star Chapel, Appleton Highland Memorial Park, 3131 North Richmond Street, Appleton, WI.

Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Radio Ministry, 601 E. Glendale, Appleton, WI or The Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.

She was buried in February 2014 in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI, Findagrave #186855119.

Bruce is survived by his life partner of 19 years Maureen Piper, her children and grandchildren; 1st wife Carol Goetz; brother George Huffman of Florida, his daughter Linda Pounds, his son Bruce and wife Monica, son Dan and wife Tina, son Tim and wife Jackie. eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
