Veronika Wilnauer Czaplinski, 75, of Greensboro, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Born November 3, 1943, in Ensenbruck, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Josef Wilnauer and the late Margarete Wilnauer.
Ms. Czaplinski is survived by her sons, David Montoya, Dan Montoya, and Erich Czaplinski; daughters, Greta Montoya, and Elera Montoya.

SOUTH ENGLISH - Richard D. Pearson, 54, of South English, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, following a sudden illness.
Dick was born Dec. 26, 1954, in Washington, Iowa, to Gordon and Rosalie (Smith) Pearson, and graduated from Keota High School in 1973. Dick was employed as a welder at Vittetoe, Inc. for the past 27 years. On Sept. 27, 1997, he married Debra Moubry, daughter of Gary and Karen Moubry, of Vinton. Dick and Deb worked together with the American Youth Soccer organization, coaching soccer for young children in the community for over 14 years. Dick was an avid Hawkeye fan and attended football games and traveled to many bowl games with his family. When he wasn't wearing black and gold, he wore green and gold and could be found cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Dick's other interests included country western dance, history trivia and physical fitness. He was a devoted husband and father and spent weekends camping, fishing and traveling with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Deb of South English; three children, Jennifer Pearson of Des Moines, Katlyn Pearson of North Liberty and Matthew Pearson of North Liberty; two sisters, Linda See and husband James of Mason City and Sue Pearson of Iowa City; sister-in-law, Laurie Spalding and husband Glenn of Vinton; nieces, Rachel and Mara Spalding; and nephew, Luke Moubry, his wife Sara, and daughter Natalie. Also surviving are his two beagles, Benny and Matilda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Rosalie Pearson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with the Rev. Connie Wacht officiating. Burial will be in Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Iowa County Humane Society, a soccer scholarship or the Iowa County Nature Center at Lake Iowa.
