Gerri Kitzmiller
Edith G. "Gerri" Kitzmiller, 58, 965 Beechwood Drive, was dead on arrival at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center Sunday evening (Jan. 21, 1990).
Born in Scott County, Va., she had been a resident of the Kingsport area for the past 45 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She had been employed at North Electric for 13 years, and was a member of the Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Kitzmiller, Nov. 21, 1989.
Surviving are her husband, William "Bill" Kitzmiller; two sons, Robert "Bob" Kitzmiller and Tony Kitzmiller, both of Kingsport; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. R.C. (Clara) Kitzmiller and Georgia Shelton, both of Kingsport; one brother Ernest Hickman, Rogersville.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Johnny Gibson, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be at Oak Hill Mausoleum.

Anthony L. Kitzmiller, 23, 104 Lebanon Drive, Kingsport, was arrested about 7:15 Friday night and charged with possession of marijuana, reckless driving and failure to stop for blue light and siren.
Twelfth district constable Al Wheelock said he observed a car, driven by Kitzmiller, leave the Kingsport Highway and he stopped to investigate.
Wheelock said three persons were in the car, which pulled back onto the highway and fled. Wheelock said he apprehended the car at the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Bristol Highway and two of the occupants fled on foot. The constable subsequently charged Kitzmiller, who was in Jonesboro Jail Friday night.

Missing Knoxville man found deceased at Newell Brands

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday, Sept. 6 that a body recovered by emergency personnel last week was that of missing Knoxville resident Robert Kitzmiller.
BCSO Public Information Officer Marian O’Briant confirmed the body was that of Kitzmiller, who was reported missing after he was last seen Aug. 29, according to a missing person listing by East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers and shared by the BCSO Facebook page. Kitzmiller, 73, was last seen backing out of his parking space at Newell Brands in his red 2017 Ford Mustang and never returned to work or arrived home.
Law enforcement is awaiting the results of an autopsy performed at Knox County Regional Forensic Center.

Penny Ella Hughes and Samuel Reeves Kitzmiller were married July 25, at Way of Life Baptist Church. The Rev. Tommy Hughes, uncle of the bride, officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Calhoun, 1015 Oak Drive Circle. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kitzmiller, 965 Beech Wood Drive.
The bride wore a white gown overlaid with Venice lace. The fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline embroidered in a pearl satin ruffle.
She wore a headpiece of silk ribbon and pink rosebuds with baby's breath. She carried a lace fan with miniature pink and white roses, purple daisies, white carnations and baby's breath with satin streamers tied in love knots.
Tammy E. Callahan, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Flower girl was Samantha Kitzmiller, daughter of the bridegroom.
William Kitzmiller served his son as best man. Ring bearer was Jonathan L. Shepherd, nephew of the bride.
The bride graduated from Sullivan North High School.
The bridegroom graduated from Sullivan Central High School and is employed by Tennessee Eastman Co.
Following a honeymoon trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will live in Kingsport.
