LEXINGTON – The funeral of George A. Boyd, 78, of R.R. 1, Lexington, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Musselman-Beck Funeral Home, Lexington, the Rev. Ron C. Melzer officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He died at 2:26 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 24, 1995) at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Lexington Ambulance Fund.
Surviving is one daughter, Catherine Boyd, Lexington; and two brothers, Tom, Lexington; and Myron, Normal.
He was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Lexington, a son of Glenard and Marie Bishop Boyd. He married Alice Willmoth (sic) March 9, 1940 in Clayton, Mo. She died Sept. 27, 1991.
Mr. Boyd farmed in the Lexington area all of his life until his retirement in 1981. He was a 55-year member of First United Methodist Church, Lexington. He was a member of Chief City Saddle Club, Pontiac.
He was an avid horseman, trailrider and camper since retiring.

NORMAL – Myron C. Boyd, 77, of 213 Arlington Drive, Normal, formerly of Lexington, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday (March 20, 2003) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Mr. Boyd attended East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock.
He formerly farmed in Lexington. He then worked at Production Credit Assoc., Pontiac. He was a former cashier at the Cropsey State Bank, Melvin, and also served in other financial institutions.
He was an avid collector of antique toys. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and poetry. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Thomas was a life-long farmer, and enjoyed hunting, horses and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Uniting (Disciples of Christ); and the Elks Lodge 281, in Bloomington.

BLOOMINGTON – Mary Ann Hug, 54, of Bloomington, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday (Aug. 6, 2014) at her residence.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eastview Christian Church, Normal. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.
Mary Ann was born on Nov. 21, 1959, in Normal, the daughter of Myron C. and Rita Lillian Vanderwater Boyd. She married Brian Hug on June 4, 1983, in Mahomet. Brian survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Matthew B. Hug, Chicago; Jacob A. (Jenny) Hug, Itasca; and Caleb C. Hug, Champaign; two brothers, Stan (Donna) Boyd, Wheaton, and David (Rita) Boyd, Mount Zion.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Amanda Grace Hug; and a brother, Dennis Boyd.
Mary Ann worked as a tax accountant for Arthur Anderson before taking on the more important and rewarding responsibility of raising a family. Mary Ann was a member of Eastview Christian Church, Normal, and was a member and past president of the Hands All Around Quilt Guild.

She was born December 9, 1930, in Towanda, the daughter of Calvin and Mamie Hillard. She married Thomas N. Boyd on October 20, 1951, in Lexington. Surviving are four children, Alan Boyd of Longmont, Colorado; Julia (David) Chilton of Fleming Island, Florida; Randy Boyd of Normal, Illinois; Renae Boyd of Bloomington, Illinois; six grandchildren, Chris (Noy), Scott (Rochelle), Brett (Jennifer), Jessica (Ryan), Samuel and Josephine; and six great grandchildren, Roman, Isabella, Marcello, Brooklyn, Jameson, Ronan with a seventh expected this summer. She is also survived by her sister, Thelma Williams of Lexington.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one grandson, Lucas Boyd.
She attended Prairie Hall School, Lexington High School, and Illinois State University.
Geneva worked at State Farm Insurance, Bergner’s Department Store and enjoyed Bible study, reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting (Disciples of Christ), Disciples of Christ Women’s Ministries, Emblem Club in Bloomington, and McLean County Homemakers Extension. Her family will forever cherish her steadfast Christian faith, loving family dinners, quick witted sense of humor, and beloved songs she sang as she went about her day.
