Ed Stone Passes Away After Long Illness

Ed Stone, aged 64 years, passed away Saturday, May 16, after a long illness, the last several weeks of which he had been cared for in the Hamill hospital.

Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Wm. Howard Wheat. Interment was in Fairfax cemetery in charge of the Hunsaker funeral home.

Edgar L. P. Stone was born on March 15, 1889 at Forsythe, Missouri, and died on May 16, 1953, at Fairfax, Oklahoma.

Mr. Stone came to Oklahoma as a young man. He was united in marriage to Ida A. Stiffler, on November 27, 1912, at Welty, Oklahoma. He had been employed by the Sinclair-Prairie Oil company since 1925. The past 20 years he has lived in the Fairfax community.

A son, Albert, preceded him in death at the age of three years. There remain to mourn his passing:

Stone, of Pampa, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Paulette Minihan, of Rangely, Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Baird, Ozark, Missouri; and five grandchildren: Marion Lee Stone, Jean Louise Stone, Edgar Michael Minihan, Elizabeth Kathleen Minihan, and Stoney Lee Minihan.

ODESSA (PBB) - Clarence Edgar Stone, 55, died Thursday evening in Medical Center Hospital following an illness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Highland Methodist Church with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Stone was born June 2, 1920, in Welty, Okla., and married Dorthy Jean Schweitzer in 1945 in Warren. Pa. They came to Odessa from Pampa in 1952. He was a member of Highland Methodist, an Army veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge 124 and a member of the Grey Horse Lodge in Fairfax, Okla.

Survivors include his widow of the home; a son, Marion Lee Stone of Odessa; a daughter, Mrs. Clark M. Jones of Midland; a sister, Mrs. Bill Minihan of Kimball, Neb., and two granddaughters.
