HILARY KINKEADE PASSES
Hilary Kinkeade passed away at his home in Owensville Sunday morning, April 3, after an illness of several months, during most of which he was bedfast and helpless.
Mr. Kinkeade was a lifelong resident of Gasconade county though he had lived in Owensville but two or three years. He was born and reared and lived most of his life in the Red Bird vicinity, where he was known as an exemplary citizen, quiet, peacable (sic), neighborly and kind. He had made many friends in Owensville, too, a number of whom were very faithful in waiting on him in his last illness.
Hilary Kinkeade was born in Gasconade county near Red Bird on June 16, 1851, and died at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 17 days. He was united in marriage with Miss Virginia Fitzgerald on January 27, 1878. To this union two daughters were born, Elizabeth, who died in infancy, and Fatamma, wife of Wm. Kinkeade of St. Louis.
His widow and daughter are left to mourn. Also two grandchildren, Samuel M. and Mabel Kinkeade, and two brothers, William Roland and Valentine Kinkeade, both of Red Bird, and a host of friends.
Mr. Kinkeade was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ for the past 17 years. He was also a member of Red Bird Camp No. 2507, M.W.A.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. S. Arvin, were held Tuesday at the home and at the Oak Forest Church and Cemetery south of Red Bird.
NOTE: The age months and days don't compute -- should be 9 months and 18 days.
