Mrs. Jenet Mae Springer Garner, 84, of Florence, passed away on June 12, 2016 at her residence. She was a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Wood Avenue Church of Christ with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Charlie T. Garner, III. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth Springer; husband, Charlie T. Garner, Jr.; sister, Shirley Springer O’Hearn and her grandson, Michael LeFurgey.

Survivors include her sons: Charlie T. Mr. Charlie T. "Sonny'" Garner, Jr., 67, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999. Mr. Garner was a Minister for the Church of Christ for the past 49 years, having served 11 different congregations throughout the United States. He had also been a missionary in the Philippines, and his last ministry was his home congregation of Lake Forest Church of Christ where his father had been an elder. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Jeanette Garner Parks and Barbara Garner Gumtow. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jenet S. Garner; four children, Charlie Theo Garner, III, Atlanta, GA, Carl Thomas (Patty) Garner, Victoria, TX, Jamie Garner (Don) Walker, Valdosta, GA, and Mildred Garner (Brian) Giselbach, Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, Ronald Adams (Charlotte) Garner, Green Cove Springs, FL and Donald Culver (Angie) Garner, Monroe, NC; one brother-in-law, Jim Gumtow; one aunt, Emmie Culver (Fred) Findley; 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
