Mr. Robert "Bobby" Lee Young, 85, of Unionville, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born June 12, 1928 in Frederick County. He was the husband of Betty Martin Young, his wife of 64 years.

Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. In earlier years he was employed with the Frederick Coca-Cola Plant, worked as a dairy farmer and drove for Von Eiff Inc. Petroleum Products of Unionville.

He was a Frederick County school bus contractor for many years and in 1980 he started Young's Nursery at Unionville.

He enjoyed NASCAR as a Dale Earnhardt fan, played rummy and liked spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Larry Young and wife Linda of Unionville; 2 daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Testerman and husband Paul and Donna White and husband Dale, all of Unionville; 4 grandchildren, Melanie Carter and husband Paul, Steven Testerman and wife Jessica, Rachael and Lindsey White; 3 great grandchildren, Morgan and Mason Carter and Chloe Testerman; and 3 sisters, Betty; Ruth Gilbert of Frederick; Jean Freed and husband Donald of Unionville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Ropp and a brother Lewis Ropp.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Bud Lusk, church visiting pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, Monday, June 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., Maryland Chapter, P.O. Box 893, Severna Park, MD 21146 or to the Good Samaritan Fund, c/o Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 13356 Glissans Mill Rd., Mount Airy, MD 21771.

Betty Jane Mullendore was born on 17 May 1926 in Trego, Washington Co., MD. She married Robert Leroy Myers on 6 September 1946 in St. Paul's United Brethren Church, Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD. She married Alan Charles Hechmer after 1971; Alan was first married to Alice Lois Johnson (1919-1971) and had two sons with her, Alan Jr. and Kenneth Hechmer. She died on 25 September 2004

CECIL GEORGE GROVE, age 91, of Bowling Green, passed away on July 21, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, Md. Born on May 3, 1926 in Avilton, Md., he was the son of the late George Bruce and Pearl Elizabeth (Robeson) Grove. He was preceded in death by Audrey Nigh (Mullendore) Grove, his wife; Gregory Grove, his son; Violet Grove McKenzie, his sister; Austin R. Grove and Harold B. Grove, his brothers.

Mr. Grove was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the Army Air Corp as a sergeant deployed in the Pacific theater. Mr. Grove retired from the State of Maryland, where he worked as a steamfitter. Cecil was a member of the American Legion Farrady Post 24, Frostburg, Md., and the VFW William D. Byron Post 1936, Hagerstown, Md. Cecil was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in the country.

He is is survived by two sons, Kevin Grove and Shawn Grove; stepchildren, Judy Nigh, Jay Nigh, and Jim Bowser. He is also survived by his three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

At his request, his body was cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown. J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Md., is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mullendore graduated from college and later received a Master's degree in Education from the University of Maryland.

She spent many years as a Master Resource Teacher, primarily in Montgomery County, Maryland.

She and her husband, Ralph Elvin Mullendore (deceased), were married for 62 years and spent all but World War II in Silver Spring, Maryland.

After she retired from teaching, Louise and her husband travelled extensively for many years to many places, including Eastern and Western Europe, the Near and Far East, Mexico, and Canada.

She had been a resident of Ridgecrest for three years.

Louise's family includes siblings William Henry Cusick and Nora Elizabeth (Betty) Barnes.

She was preceded in death by Chester Arthur Cusick and Martha Kopson.

Her children include daughter, Patricia Baczkiewicz of Ridgecrest, and her husband, Paul; son, Gregory Ralph Mullendore of San Diego;and grandchildren, Patrick Baczkiewicz and Kelly Louise Mullendore.

She was buried in 2002 in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington Co., VA, Findagrave #9359943.
