Russell "Russ" Ervin Slipher, Jr., of Asheville, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013. A native of Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Russell E. Slipher, Sr. and Margaret Propst Slipher. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Schlie. Russ is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Slipher of New York, NY and Lauren Slipher of Asheville as well as one sister, Dottie Gerow of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service for Russ will be held at 11:00 AM on January 11, 2014 in the Redwood Chapel at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Asheville.
