Robert R. Ragar, age 73 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 4, 1943 in Dayton to the late Richard O. and Helen (Werst) Ragar.

Robert is survived by his wife Becky (Dillow) Ragar, whom he married March 4, 1987; daughter Brittina Dunaway and her fiancé David Clark of Kettering; stepson Troy Duvall and his fiancé Waneta and their three grandchildren of New Castle, IN; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Heidi Ragar of Carlisle; as well as 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Robert in death was his sister Carol Hill. Robert was US Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Belmont High School. He was a member of American Legion Post #668 and Amvets Post #0099, both of Vandalia. He retired in 2001 from CSX Transportation after 28 years of service. He loved bowling, darts, and softball.

Beverly Tharp Tibbs, age 77, passed away on November 9, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. After fighting a long, hard battle with cancer, she went peacefully, surrounded by family. Beverly was born on January 5, 1943 in Dayton, OH to Britt and Sarah Tharp. Beverly enjoyed crafting and gardening and loved living in rural Kentucky, where she moved in the late 90’s with her late husband Jim after living in Ohio her whole life. She found Kentucky suited her lifestyle and considered the Bluegrass State as her home. She truly cherished her time there. Beverly also had a special relationship with her brother Larry and served as his caretaker for many, many years.

Beverly was proceeded in death by her brother, Larry Tharp, her daughter Ellen Whitener, and her husband, Jim Tibbs. Beverly is survived by her sister, Carol (Wayne) Ertel, brother Don Tharp; children David (Joan) Strader, Brittina (David) Clark, and Robert (Heidi) Ragar, along with 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
