Biography

Warren Gilbert Miller was born on 12 July 1924 in Gulf, Matagorda Co., TX,

; WW II draft registration. Also known as "Old Gulf" and "Gulf Hill", the community was near the junction of Boggy Creek and the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway, sixteen miles south of Bay City in south-central Matagorda County. Organized by the gulf Sulphur Company about 1917, it was a railroad stop uuntil the early 1940s. After the sulphur deposits played out, the community declined and the site has not been designated on any maps since the 1980s. MILLER, Warren G., 74, of Beavercreek, passed away Saturday, April 3, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Clara and a brother, Darrell.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Treva; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Nancy of Alta Loma, CA; daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Miller of Skippack, PA, Lora and Kevin Budke of Cincinnati, OH; Lisa and Dennis Dimiduk of Beavercreek; a sister, Mary Ellen Miller; and 10 grandchildren, Brian, Lindsey, and Gregory Miller, Matthew, Karen, Kristen, and Katelyn Budke, Nicholas, Tanya, and Teresa Dimiduk.

Warren was a veteran of WW II having serviced in the 15th Air Force. He was a retiree of W.P.A.F.B. after 34 years of service, a member of Beavercreek Church of the Bretheren (sic) and Beaver Valley Lodge #753 F.&A.M., as well as a member of the Wally Ryman Airstream Club, the Miami Valley Mineral & Gem Club, and the 455th Bomb Group Assoc.

Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 9, 1999 at the Beavercreek Church of the Bretheren (sic), 2559 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Pastor Lisa Hazen will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, with Masonic Services being held at 7:30 that evening. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Warren’s name to the American Cancer Society or the charity of choice.

Surviving are a son, Lowell, Liberty, IN; a daughter, LaDonna (Paul) Kogge, St. Marys; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a brother, Gerald; a sister, Rowena Smith; and a great-grandchild.

A homemaker, she had attended Lima South High School. She was a member of the Christian Science Church, Lima, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also was a member of the Wapakoneta Ladies Garden Club.

Private family burial rites will be held, Pastor Richard Riggs, officiating.

She was buried in September 2011 in Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, Lima, Allen Co., OH, Findagrave #76070062.
