MICHAEL DANFORD, a well known citizen of Wayne township, an uncle of Hon. L. Danford, of this place, died on Thursday of last week, from general debility, in the 83d year of his age. He was a native of the township in which he lived. He was twice married - the first time in 1831 to Miss Mercy Danford, who died in 1870; and the second time, to Catharine Berry in 1873, who still survives. John Danford, Esq., of Washington township, and Mrs. John Sidebottom and Alex. Danford, of this township, children by the first marriage, survive him. Deceased was a farmer by occupation. In 1854, he was elected county commissioner and served acceptably. He was one of the trust worthy, responsible men of his section, and was held in high regard by a large circle of friends and neighbors. His funeral took place on Friday; interment at Belmont Ridge cemetery.

He was buried in July 1885 in Belmont Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, Belmont Co., OH, Findagrave #73676000.
