Vernon P.O., p.581B -- don't know anything about a first marriage to a Collins. (DLB 2005.)1,2 She married Collins before 1870. She married James W. Windell, son of Augustine Windell and Sophia French, on 16 April 1871 in Jefferson Co., IL, Three children born, two living as of 1900 census. Can only account for daughter Sophia Susan at this time. DLB 2005.2 Sarah J. Haney died on 8 March 1923 in Johnson Co., TX.

She was buried in March 1923 in Marystown Cemetery, Marystown, Johnson Co., TX.

A.C. Haney, Resident of Walnut Hill, Ill Dies,May 6, 1941. A.C.Haney, 77,died at his home in Walnut Hill, Ill. Tuesday evening after a short illiness. He had lived at Walnut Hill the last seventeen years, having worked on a farm near there previous to retirement. He was born to J.W. and Margaret (Blanton) Haney in Jefferson County, Ill., in 1864 and was twice married. The first time to Sophia Windel . He was then married to Anna Brooks, who survives him. He was a member of of the Methodist Church. Surviving him other than his wife, are eight daughters, Ona, Almedia, Esther and Lucille at home. Mrs. Jack Harris, also of Walnut Hill, Mrs. James Rhynes and Mrs. Laura Patton of Centralia, and Mrs. Luther McFall of Muscatine, Iowa. One step-daughter, Mrs. Albert Hamilton. Two sisters, Mrs. Judy Moore and Mrs. James Fry of Paw Paw, Michigan. One brother, Ransom Haney of Smithville, Ark. 20 grand-children and 5 great grand children. Services were held at Boggs Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday. with Rev. Irvin Smith. He was buried at Gilead Cemetery in Marion Co, Illinois.
