Charles Leonard Hahn, 80, native born Illinois farmer who came to Tacoma 15 years ago, died Saturday at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Coquesia Belle of the family home, 6243 South Pine street; six daughters, Mrs. Vera I. Rine and Mrs. Hazel Miller of Portland, Mrs. Kathryn Curtis of Adin, Calif., Mrs. Marie Dryden of Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Mrs. Coquesia B. Calvin (sic) of Milwaukie, Ore.; four sons, Leonard M., of Chelan, Ivan of Bloomington, Ind., and Clifford and Marshall of Tacoma; six brothers, Guy of Davenport, Ia., and Edward, William, Eugene, Clarence and Ollie, all of Muscatine, Ia., and 15 grandchildren.

CHELAN _ Leonard M. Hahn, 96, a longtime resident of Manson, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1993, in the Regency Manor Convalescent Center at Chelan.
He was born Oct. 21, 1896, at Illinois City, Ill., to Charles and Coquessa (Coulter) Hahn.
His family moved to Tacoma in 1907, then to Muscatine, Iowa, in 1912. He moved to Billings, Mont., in 1916 and worked as a welder. He joined the U.S. Army in 1917 then returned to Muscatine after his discharge in 1919. He moved to Tacoma in 1921 and worked as a crane operator at St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Co. He was the foreman of the dry chain crew.
He married Tillie "Teddy'' Klapstein on Dec. 15, 1923, at Tacoma. They bought and subdivided a 10-acre orphanage in Tacoma in 1938. They moved to Manson in 1943 where he owned and operated an orchard. He retired in the early 1970s but worked with his son until a few years ago.
He was a past member of the Kiwanis and Manson Grange. He was a member of the American Legion and the Manson United Methodist Church. He was a longtime member of the Republican party and a fund-raiser for the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. He marched in the Manson Apple Blossom parade in his World War II uniform with the color guard.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Wally of Manson; a brother, Marshall of Buckeye, Ariz.; three sisters, Vera Rine of Yuba City, Calif., Hazel Lawrence of Portland, Ore. and Katherine Curtiss of Eugene, Ore.; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel of Chelan.
He was buried in January 1993 in Chelan Fraternal Cemetery, Chelan, Chelan Co., WA, Findagrave #24309448.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Morris C. Hahn, 86, formerly of Muscatine, died at Tacoma Tuesday.
Services are at 3 p.m. Friday at the New Tacoma Funeral House Chapel, 9212 Chamber Creek Road West, Tacoma, 98467. Burial will be at the New Tacoma Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Mr. Hahn was born Dec. 17, 1902 at Andalusia, Ill., a son of Charles L. and Coquesia Belle Coulter Hahn.
He was of the Methodist faith. While in Muscatine he was engaged in farming.

MANSON - Tillie "Teddie" Hahn, 91, of Manson, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 1994, in the Regency Manor Convalescent Center following an extended illness.
She was born May 9, 1903, to Andrew and Pauline (Hintz) Klapstein in Edmonton, Alberta. She attended school through the sixth grade then had to stay home and work on the family farm because of her mother's health.
She moved in 1918 with her family to Puyallup where she worked at a berry cannery and a plywood plant. She moved to Tacoma in 1920 and worked for the Brown and Haley Co. and then Dasheils restaurant, where she met Leonard Hahn. They were married Dec. 15, 1923, at Olympia.
They moved to Muscatine, Iowa, for six months and then returned to Tacoma. They moved to a four-acre berry farm in 1932, and raised and sold berries, shrubs and garden produce. In 1938 they bought and subdivided a 10-acre tract that had formerly been an orphanage. They moved in 1943 to Manson where they owned and operated several orchards.
Mrs. Hahn was a member of the Manson United Methodist Church, the Manson Grange, the American Legion Auxiliary and Republican Women.
Survivors include a son, Wally, of Manson; two granddaughters, Julie Belisle and Holly Minor, both of Manson; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, six brothers and a sister.
Arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel in Chelan.

Wallace Leonard (Wally) Hahn was born to Leonard and Tillie Hahn in Tacoma, Wash. June 9, 1928 and passed into God's loving hands at home Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.
Wally attended school in Tacoma thru the 9th grade. After the family purchase of an apple orchard in Manson, he moved with the family in 1943. He graduated from Chelan High School in 1946, and enlisted in the Army that fall. He was stationed with the 1st Calvary Division with the army of Occupation in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1948 and returned to Manson to resume employment in the apple industry after a brief venture into Aircraft and Engineering school in Portland, Oregon.
Wally married Edris Avon Kowsky at Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee in July 1951. They purchased their first orchard in May 1953, while at the same time he continued to work at the Chelan Boat Company and the packing shed. In 1957 Julie was born. Daughter Holly followed in December 1960.
In later years Wally earned 23 awards from Trout Growers for his premium fruit, including "Top Grower" and "Outstanding Grower of the Year." He also received the 1967 Soil and Water Conservation Farmer of the Year award. He was also a member of the Manson United Methodist Church and the Lake Chelan Reclamation board of directors, as well as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars member.
Wally ran a truck and car dealership out of the house and front lawn for several years, as well as drove trucks up into the Methow during the floods to help out. He also oversaw the building and opening of Mountain View Lodge in 1986 and helped in its success.
Wally mainly loved life, family, and friends. His greatest joys were spending time with his wife, watching his daughters grow up and marry, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was so proud of each and every accomplishment of everyone he loved.
His love of farming and yard work were there for all to see. Just look at his yard! His hobbies also included dirt bike riding, stream and high mountain lake fishing, camping, boating on the Lake Chelan and the San Juan Islands, stock car racing, traveling with the family to such places as Disneyland, the Oregon coast, Banff and Jasper National Parks, hydroplane racing, and in the later years spending time with the "coffee crowd".
Family left behind are Edye Hahn, his wife of 62 years; daughter Julie and husband Marty and their children Tia and Leslie; and daughter Holly, her husband Carl and their daughter Jaiden.
Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at 2 p.m., at the Manson United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
Services are entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel of Chelan. Please feel free to leave any condolences and memories at www.prechtrose.com.
