Services for Frederick C. Crumpacker, 67, of 41 Glendale pk., Hammond , will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian church, Hohman av. and Highland st., Hammond . Mr. Crumpacker died in his home late Monday following a long illness. He had practiced law in Hammond for 41 years and was a prominent member of the Indiana bar. Surviving are his widow, Mary, a daughter, Margery, and two sons, Frederick Jr. and Owen W. both lawyers, of Hammond , and another daughter, Mrs. William B. Hall of Annapolis, Md. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Hammond.

MRS. C. CROSBY DIES TODAY IN CHICAGO HOME.

Mrs. Cora Crosby, wife of Garland VanNess Crosby, and a former resident of Valparaiso, died this noon at her home in Chicago following an extended illness.

She was born at Crown Point, Ind., sixty-three years ago, a daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. Elisha C. Field. Judge Field presided over the Lake and Porter circuit court from 1870 to 1890, when he resigned and was succeeded by the late William Johnston. Thereafter he was general counsel for the Monon railroad.

Surviving are the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Charles E. McGill and one son, Field Crosby, of Valparaiso; four grandchildren; one brother, Robert Field, of Wheeler, Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Bernice Coleman, of Louisville, Ky.

The body will be brought to Valparaiso to the Stinchfield funeral home, corner Jefferson and Lafayette streets. Memorial arrangements will be announced tomorrow.

Garland Crosby, 74, Had Been In Ill Health For Years

Garland Van Ness Crosby, 74, a native of Valparaiso, died at 11:25 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles S. McGill, 505 Washington. He had been in ill health for several years.

The decedent was born in Valparaiso Feb. 15, 1873, a son of Freeman Crosby and Mary (Windle) Crosby, both prominent in the early business and social life of Valparaiso.

When a young man he went to Chicago and for many years was auditor of the Guarantee Life and Accident company. He returned to Valparaiso May 1, 1947.

Married in Chicago

On Sept 9, 1896, he was united in marriage in Chicago to Cora Field. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles S. McGill; a son, Field Crosby, both of Valparaiso; four grandchildren, Mrs. Stanley Christian, Mrs. Richard Eason, James C. McGill and Margaret Jean Crosby, all of Valparaiso; two great grandchildren; one sister, Miss Clara Crosby, Valparaiso, and one brother, Thomas Crosby, San Francisco, Calif.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church for many years.

The body is at the Bartholomew funderal home, 102 Monroe street, pending funeral arrangements.
