OBITUARY - Montgomery County, Leader, April 19, 1907
Gone Home. The Angel of Death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Powell April 13th and bore away the spirit of Mary Bulah, their oldest daughter, age 14 years 4 months and 11 days.
Mary had been sick for for two weeks, but was thought to be improving, and her parents and friends were much comforted with the thiought that she would soon be well again.
She seemed to realize her condition however and stated a number of times during the last week of her illness that she would never recover and made several requests concerning her funeral and burial. Mary had been converted and was a candidate for membership in the Methodist church but on account of sickness in the family, had not had the privilege of receiving the vows of the church.
She had a peculiarly sweet and amiable disposition and was a general favorite among her associates. She will be sadly missed in the home, the Sunday school and the Public school.
Her funeral was preached at the Methodist church Monday afternoon by Rev. Ham to a large audience of sorrowing relatives and friends, her Sunday school class acting as honorary pall bearers.
Mary has left us, and while we know that she will never return, we know that she is with Jesus, and is wating to welcome us Home where there is no parting.
She was buried in April 1907 in New Florence Cemetery, New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO.
