Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):

Walter Johnsons To Mark Golden Wedding Date

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson, of 203 Center Street, will mark their golden wedding anniversary Wednesday, January 20, 1971. Members of their family will honor them at "open house" Sunday, December 27, between 2 and 5 p.m., in the Frostburg Community Center — the reason for the early celebration, the usual inclement January weather.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Myrtle Marie Bish. of Cottage Hill, near New Bethlehem, exchanged vows in 1921 with Walter Johnson, of the Beechwoods area, at the altar of the Valler Methodist Church parsonage. The Rev. P. K. Scott, pastor of the church, officiated.

The Johnsons are the parents of three sons, Wilbert, of Olean, N.Y.; James, of Punxsutawney, and Edward Dale, of Mount Vernon, Indiana, and five daughters, Mrs. Jack (Vivian) Eckman, of Summerville; Mrs. Warren (Anna) Hohwald, of Erie; Mrs. David (Kathryn) Forrest, of Punxsutawney; Miss Nancv Johnson. of Glen Rock, Wyoming, and Mrs. Jacqueline Aycock, of Cleveland, Ohio.

There are 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren in the families.

The couple are members of the Grace United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney. They have resided most of their married life near Frostburg, having in recent years moved to their present address.

Mrs. Johnson is a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service and Lydia Bible Class of her church, and the Women's Relief Corps. Her husband, now retired was formerly employed by the Punxsutawney Beef and Provisions Company. He is a charter member of the American Legion post, and belongs to the Men's Bible Class of the church. He enjoys gardening, while his wife enjoys her housekeeping.

Punxsutawney Spirit, December 1971.

She was buried in March 1982 in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, Frostburg, Jefferson Co., PA, Findagrave #62428143.
