Leinbach-Kirkpatrick.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Leinbach was the scene of a very pretty wedding, last Saturday noon, when their daughter, Miss Parma, was united in marriage to Mr. Dale M. Kirkpatrick, of Kansas City, Mo.
Rev. Wright M. Horton, pastor of the Federated church, read the ceremony. The home was prettily decorated in yellow and white, with yellow and white chrysanthemums, Spanish moss and palm branches. The impressive ring ceremony was used. The bride was dressed in white-satin with tulle veil to match. She was attended by her sister, Miss Anna Elizabeth, who wore a yellow silk dress. The groom wore the conventional dark blue.
Mr. J. A. Campbell, friend of the groom, was best man.
Only the immediate relatives of the two families were present.
The bride was born and raised in this community, and graduate from the Onaga high school. She attended Kansas University for three years, and is a very talented and refined young lady. The groom is a graduate of Kansas university in the class of 1929 and is a mechanical engineer. He is employed by the Worthington Pump and Machine Company, of Kansas City, Mo.
Following the ceremony, the happy newly-weds departed for their new home at 1030 Benton St., Kansas City, Mo. The many friends in this community extend congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
From John P. Kirkpatrick:
Dale Melvin Kirkpatrick was the older of two sons born to James Garfield and Bertha Sarah (Rexroat) Kirkpatrick. He was born 29 April 1908 at Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois, and attended grammar school there. He died 18 March 1971. He married Parma Dixon Leinbach whom he met at the University of Kansas. The couple married at the bride's home in Onaga, Pottawatomie Co., Kansas, 28 November 1931. She was born at McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma on 1 July 1908, the daughter of Chester Arthur and Rosemary (McKennon) Leinbach. Chester A. Leinbach was born 1 April 1881 and died in 1933. His wife Rosemary, daughter of Capt. Archibald McKennon (Arkansas 16th Infantry), was born in 1884 and died in
1930.
Dale Kirkpatrick moved as a child with his family from Illinois to Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, between 1915 and 1919. He attended high school and junior college in Kansas City. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1930 with a degree in mechanical engineering. While in college he worked with his father in the Flint Hills Oil Fields. Upon graduation he went to work for Worthington Pump, but in 1932 lost his job because of the Depression. For a time he sold notions in eastern Kansas and Western Missouri, then moved into the gasoline business in Nevada,
Vernon County, Missouri. But by 1935 he was called back to Worthington Pump.
Once again the Depression forced his termination and he returned to Nevada. The gasoline business prospered enough that he purchased a complete city block and established a combination gasoline station-auto wrecking yard-mechanical shop and auto parts business. He operated this until 1941.
When World War II came along, the gasoline-auto business became highly regulated by The wartime Office of Price Administration (O.P.A) and the Wartime Production board (W.P.B.) and Dale went back into mechanical engineering. He travelled about with a variety of engineering posts in Michigan, Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico (the Atomic Energy Plant at Los Alamos), including assignments in pipelines, refineries and chemical plants. He died at the age of 62 at Nevada, having
assembled a considerable amount of real estate in the area.
His wife, Parma, had completed two years of pre-law and two years of law school but dropped her career in favor of marriage. She was the daughter of Chester Arthur Leinbach the Prosecuting Attorney of Potawatomi Co. KS. Her Uncle Roscoe Conklin Leinbach was the Onaga KS town physician.

Maggie - Second Generation
Margaret Katherine Deasy was the oldest child of Michael Deasy (Ireland 1845) and Henrietta Cole (Baltimore 1844). She was born in Gold Hill, Nevada on 19 Aug 1863. She married Peter Turnbull (Nova Scotia May 1857) in Virginia City, Nevada on 08 Aug 1880. It is presumed that they moved to Idaho about the time the rest of the family moved to the north after the death of her father.
Her husband, Peter Turnbull, is listed as paying taxes at John Day Creek in December 1890. During the short 30 years of her life she had 4 children, all girls. The first, Margaret Catherine, was born in Nevada. The other 3 were born in Idaho. We have two other names, Adelaide and Henrietta, who may be daughters, but we have no other information.
Margaret Catherine 16 Jan 1885 04 Jun 1940 Stites, Idaho
Daisy R Feb 1887
Carrie Jan 1888
Anna L Jan 1891
What little we know about the places where these girls settled and who they married will be covered in a 3rd generation page.
After the death of Margaret Katherine on 16 Sep 1893 in John Day, Idaho Peter married again. His 2nd wife’s name was Frankie L Kiper. She was born in Missouri to parents from Kentucky in Jan 1874. They were married in Grangeville, Idaho on 02 Jan 1895. Based on the 1900 U.S. Census they lived on a farmstead adjacent to the one where Margaret Katherine’s brother Michael and his wife Henrietta Delmage lived. At the time of this census a boy, William (Apr 1898), had been born to Peter and Frankie.
The girls Maggie, Daisy, Annie, and Carrie as they were listed on this census, also resided in the household. The whereabouts of Adelaide and Henrietta (if indeed they are daughters) is unknown. Additionally, John Turnbull (Nova Scotia Dec 1833), Peter’s father was a border in the household. Peter and his father worked as mine laborers.
Other Deasy families (spelled “Deasey” in the 1900 U.S. Census) living in the neighborhood included Margaret Katherine’s brother, John Peter, living on his own place. Michael the cousin of their father and Henrietta Cole, to whom he was now married, were living on another farmstead with their son Jefferson T., Margaret Katherine’s step brother, along with her brothers William Henry and Harry. With the exception of Margaret Katherine herself these other members of the family are given additional introductions in John Peter’s biography.
We know no other information about Frankie L. Kiper, but Peter Turnbull remarried again in Lewiston, Idaho to Clara Phelps on 22 Aug 1903.

Stella 'Sally" Rose Bosworth
BUHL -- Stella "Sally" Rose Bosworth, 94, a longtime Buhl resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Bridgeview Estates Skilled Nursing Unit following a short illness.
Sally was born Oct. 8, 1911, in a house along the Salmon River south of Lucile, Idaho. She was the second youngest of four sisters and a brother. They were raised by their father and she told many stories of growing up on the farm with the horses, the orchard and the vegetable garden. After graduating from Grangeville High School she lived in various places and went to beauty school in Portland, Ore., before settling in Twin Falls where she met and married William Bosworth in 1945. In 1950, they adopted twin girls, DeeAnna and LeeAnna. Following the marriage they resided in Buhl, where they had an accounting office until they retired.
Bill and Sallie enjoyed many years together camping and fishing. They belonged to the rifle and pistol clubs and bowled for many years. They also raised a granddaughter, Cynthia. Sally was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Buhl until she was no longer able to attend. In later years, Bill and Sally enjoyed playing cards at various places. Sally loved to golf, especially with her grandson, Randall, and played a lot of duplicate bridge. The past few years her health and mind deteriorated somewhat and she lived at Bridgeview estates where she enjoyed playing bingo and other games. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and loved visits from her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
Earlier this year she came home to live with Cynthia and the kids. She loved having the little ones around, liked participating in "tea parties" and became especially fond of ice cream! She liked to read, especially her gossip magazines and watch Wheel of Fortune. She always looked forward to her two eggs over-easy for breakfast and her two cups of tea a day. She was doing so well until her fall last month when she broke her hip. We were looking forward to having her home by Christmas. We will always remember her huge Thanksgiving turkey dinners and wonderful lemon meringue pies! She was really a wonderful cook. We will miss you Mom and Grandma!
Sally is survived by her daughters, DeeAnna (Keith) Barnes of Castleford and LeeAnna (Bud) Randall of Castleford; granddaughter, Cynthia Owsley of Buhl; granddaughter, Carina Latham of Twin Falls; grandsons, Randall (Misty) Barnes of Buhl and Willie (Brandi) Barnes of Twin Falls; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Kassidy, Justin, Ryan, Kelsey, Taylor, Kyler, Emily, Diana, Robert and one that is due in May; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, all of her sisters, her brother and a grandson.
The family would like to thank Bridgeview Estates for their care recently and in the past when she was a resident. She really enjoyed her stay and loved all the nurses and aides, and especially the activities.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Sally's name to the Buhl or Castleford Quick Response Units.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl. A viewing will be held one hour before services begin at the church. A graveside service will follow at the West End Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Farmer Funeral Chapel, Buhl, Idaho,
Note: Contrary to the above obituary, Sally was the third youngest of five sisters and a brother.
