OBITUARY:
Roy James "Jimmy" Jones, 42, of Westport, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, in Decatur County.
Born May 11, 1961, in Shelbyville, he was the son of John W. and Beverly (Lamb) Jones.
Survivors include his parents of Westport; three brothers, Michael Jones of Shelbyville, Donald Jones of Columbus and Brian Jones of Seymour; and one sister, Debbie Jones of Seymour.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Corlis Dees officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Sandra"Katy"Wachtel, 56, Shelbyville, died Saturday at Major Hospital. Mrs. Wachtel was born May 11, 1941, in Shelby County to James H. and Elizabeth (DeVault) Lamb. Her mother survives. She was married Feb. 14, 1969, to Charles Wachtel, who died March 29, 1996. Mrs. Wachtel was an administrative nurse for 15 years at Major Hospital. Other survivors include three sons, Sam Wachtel and David Wachtel both of Shelbyville, Charles R. Wachtel, Whit Mountain, Ariz.; four sisters, Lois Ann Straub, California, Sue C. Trangenstein, Ohio; Beverly Jo Jones, Westport, and Linda L. McCreary, Columbus; a brother, Donald E. Lamb, St. Omer; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister. Services will be at 11a.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service with the Rev. James Coulston officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

80, rural Shelbyville, died Wednesday. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with calling from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Mrs DeVault had worked 13 years for the Garment Factory in Shelbyville until 1950. She was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church, Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to Clifty Falls Convalescent Center, Madison. She was the widow of Ralph E. DeVault. Tessa Sue Pursley, 55, of Hanover, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Born Nov. 18, 1946, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (DeBaun) DeVault.
Survivors include one son, Jeremy Edward Pursley of Hanover; one daughter, Amanda Sue Pursley of Hanover; one brother, Billy "Sonny" Cole; five sisters, Mrs. Ronnie (Terry) Whicker of Hanover, Mrs. Art (Donna) Dewaelsche of Cicero, Mrs. Gary (Lana) Reinhart of Goshen, Ky., Rita Vierling of Madison, and Mrs. Meredith (Judy) Nugent of St. Omer; one half-sister, Mrs. Fred (Vickie) Holder of Shelbyville; and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Cole of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Phillip Edward Cole.
Mrs. Pursley was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church.
She was raised in Shelbyville, then lived in California before moving to Jefferson County in 1972.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison.
Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery in Hanover.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Larry E. Pursley, 60, of 10540 Taylor St., Dupont, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at St. Vincent Jennings Community Hospital in North Vernon.
He was born Nov. 11, 1943, in Greensburg, the son of Harold G. and Freda Hermesch Pursley. He lived for many years in the Shelbyville area before moving to the Hanover area in 1974. He was a former employee of Rotary Lift. He was later employed in the kitchen and maintenance department at Hanover College from 1976 to 1991. He attended the Hanover Baptist Church, and was a former member of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are one daughter, Amanda Sue Pursley, and one son, Jeremy Edward Pursley, both of Dupont; his mother, Freda Hermesch Pursley Buckler of Shelbyville; two sisters, Sharon Dick of Dunnville, Ky., and Shirley Polston of Shelbyville; one brother, Harry Pursley of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Feb. 16, 1974; and his wife, Tessa Sue Pursley, May 29, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, with burial in Hanover Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9.

Erma E. DeVault
Erma E. DeVault, 75, of Muncie, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Ball Memorial Hospital, in Muncie.
Born Feb. 10, 1929, in St. Paul, she was the daughter of Cecil W. and Lavon (Sink) Rutherford. She married Harry A. DeVault on Sept. 2, 1951, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Hoyt of Muncie; and two grandchildren, Ellen Powell and Matthew Hoyt, both of Muncie.
Mrs. DeVault lived in Muncie for two years. She previously lived in Mesa, Ariz., for 16 years.
She had been employed at Indiana Insurance, in Indianapolis, for 27 years. She retired in June of 1985 as an accounting supervisor.
Mrs. DeVault graduated in 1947 from St. Paul High School, in St. Paul.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, in St. Paul; and Order of Eastern Star, in Waldron.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with an Eastern Star service at 8 p.m., at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. L.J. Poe officiating.
Burial will be in Paul Hill Cemetery, in St. Paul.
