Effie Wright

Effie Wright, 88, 1001 Bristol St., Salem, died at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Salem, at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 19.

Funeral services for the deceased were conducted in the chapel of the Dawalt Funeral Home, Salem, Saturday at 2 p.m., with Dr. J. Maurice Thompson officiating. burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Wright was born March 8, 1888, a daughter of the late Alan and Mary E. Dawalt Nichols. She married Albert R. Wright December 28, 1907. He died in 1968.

Mrs. Wright was a member of the First Christian Church and the Westside Mothers Club.

Surviving are three sons, Forrest of Ubly, Michigan, Clair, of Beech Grove, and Albert J., of Indianapolis; six daughters, Lucille Roakrig, Tucson, Arizona, Lorene Collins of Los Angeles, Wilma Wishmire of Indianapolis, Edna Smedley of Campbellsburg Rt. 2, Maxine Motsinger of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Hilan Lucas of Salem.

Also surviving are three sisters, Anna Redman of Phoenix, Arizona, Ruth Rienman of Los Angeles, and Opal Fosbrick of Seymour; a brother, Noble Nichols of Caro, Michigan; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Two sons and two daughters preceded her in death.



She was buried in May 1976 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem, Washington Co., IN.
