William R. Williams, 86, died at 5:58 p.m. July 14, 2012, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born April 24, 1926, in Ohio City to Franklin R. and Anna B. Windle Williams, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 24, 1946, he married Ruth E. Gladwell, who survives.

Mr. Williams was a longtime pastor of Free Methodist Churches in Ohio. He also ministered at First Church of the Nazarene. He had a trade in auto body work. He was a member of the Hover Park Neighborhood Association, Lima, where he held several officer positions. He was a loving husband and father. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors also include three sons, Franklin R. Williams, of Toledo, David A. (Rebecca) Williams, of Cincinnati, and James M. (Cheryl) Williams, of Louisiana; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Esther) Williams, of Fostoria, and Robert (Georgia) Williams, of Lima, who is his identical twin.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Williams; and a sister, Esther Hotter.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. James M. Williams will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Dan Campbell. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.

He was the son of Franklin J. and Anna Bell (Windle) Williams. On May 18, 1947, in Lima, he married Georgia Marie Seyler, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons: Robert Jr., Lima, and Tim, MI; a daughter, Joyce (Gerry) Burton, Lima; a son-in-law, Dean McCombs, Lafayette; a brother, Charles; and twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Judy Kay McCombs; three brothers: his twin, William 'Bill', James and Thomas; a sister, Esther Hotter; and a great-grandson.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946 alongside his twin brother in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Lima Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer after 10 years. He served the Free Methodist and Missionary Churches as Minister for 30 years.

A funeral service will be at First Missionary Church, Lima, with Rev. Dr. Timothy White officiating, and assisted by Gerry Burton. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.
