1971 Graduate Is Killed In Colo. Accident
David B. Bixby, 21, of Vail, Colo., was killed Tuesday by an auto which struck him as he was walking home from work.
He was a native of Hanover and son of Mrs. Elizabeth Fitz Bixby, 21 West Chestnut St., and Roy C. Bixby, Ft. Pierce, Fla. Bixby was employed as a chef at the Holliday Inn in Vail.
He attended Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover, and the Sunday School. He was a 1971 graduate of Hanover Senior High School.
Also surviving are four brothers and sisters, Andrew, Vail, Colo., Mrs. Virginia Eltz, San Diego, Calif., Sarah and Robert Bixby, 21 West Chestnut St., and his paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Pauline Hill, Danfield, Va.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway.

A graveside service for David B. Bixby, formerly of 21 Chestnut St., who was killed in a auto accident at Vail Colo., Tuesday, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Gary F. Greth, of Emanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.

Ralph Pillow Puckett, 84, of Railview Road, Naruna, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his home.
Mr. Puckett was born in Campbell County, November 2, 1921, son of the late Richard Jennings Puckett and Lillie Pillow Puckett. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.
He is survived by one brother, Grey H. Puckett Sr. and wife Wilsie of Naruna; one sister, Christine P. Fleshman of Brookneal; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Joey Anthony. Interment followed in Falling River Baptist Church Cemetery.
Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal was in charge of arrangements.

Cyril J. Elizabeth, 65, died Wednesday at his home, 533 South St., McSherrystown.
Husband of Mary E. (Blocker) Elton. He was a son of the late Francis A. and Regina S. (Wilt) Elizabeth.
He retired two years ago as an employee of Revonah Spinning Mills. He was a member of the Annunciation Church and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Dennis H. Eltz, 312 Broadway; two grandchildren; two brothers, Albert F. Eltz, 136 Pleasant St.; and Burrell F. Eltz, 146 McAllister St.; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes M. Vaughn, 531 York St.; and Mrs. Doris Harlacher, Meade Ave. extd.
The funeral will be held Saturday, meeting at the Hicks funeral home, McSherrystown, at 8:30 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian burial at the Annunciation Church at 9. The Rev. Hugh J. McLaughlin, assistant pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will be in parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening and the rosary will be recited at 8.

Mary T. Laisure 77, Formerly of Muncie, died Tuesday, June 22, 1993, at Community Care Center in Hartford City, after a brief illness.
She was born March 5, 1916, in Winchester, the daughter of William "Will" Ellsworth Fraze and Minnie Byrum Fraze.She worked at Lutheran Hospital In Fort Wayne, She later was a clerk and nurse's aide at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie and a member of the North Side Church of God in Muncie.
Survivors include three sons, Steven Edwin (Wife, Barbara) Laisure of Hartford City, and David Everett (Wife, Dora) Laisure and William Bruce "Boe" Laisure, both of Freeport, Fla; two daughters, Frances Elaine Laisure,(Husband David E. Mason) of Fort Worth, Texas and Jayne Laisure of Muncie: Seven grandchildren; two step-grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Elwood Laisure, in 1980; two brothers,James Thurl,her twin, William "Bill" Fraze, and one sister, Reva Fraze Foltz.

HARTFORD CITY -- David Everett Laisure, 56, 0734 E. Ind. 26, died Friday in Blackford County Hospital.
Mr. Laisure was born in Winchester and had formerly lived in Muncie. He was co-owner and operator of Hartford City Equipment and Salvage Co. and had been in business for 32 years.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Dora A. Duncan Laisure; two daughters, Teresa L. (Steve) Jester and Lisa R (Dominick) LaNeve; two brothers, Steve E. (Brenda) Laisure and Boe Laisure, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Keplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Calling at the funeral home will be 3-8 p.m. Monday and 2 hours before services Tuesday.
Memorials may be sent to the Blackford County Heart Fund.
