Blanche A. Garrison

F, #130053, b. 14 September 1912, d. 3 January 1971
Pedigree Link

Biography

Blanche A. Garrison was born on 14 September 1912 in Sweetwater, Monroe Co., TN; daughter of John G. and Hattie B. (Osborne) Garrison. She married Donald Lee Gross son of Leroy Gross and Effie Glendora Shroyer, before April 1950; no children to this marriage. Blanche A. Garrison died on 3 January 1971 in Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy, Miami Co., OH,

; Blanche's newspaper obituary mentions a son, Gene L. House, Saucier, Mississippi. This was apparently Eugene Leslie House, born 15 JAN 1932 at New Orleans, Louisiana, and died 22 JAN 2000. He was listed on the 1940 census as the 8-year old son of Elbert (62) and Delilah (49) House at Saucier, Harrison Co., MS. "Elbert" was apparently the Albert House, born 25 AUG 1877 and died 22 AUG 1952, both at Saucier, son of Albert and Julia (Bellew) House. Later records show him as Elbert Burton House. Earlier records, including the 1930 census, indicate that Elbert was unmarried until he married Delilah/Delyla J. Fayard (1890-1964), daughter of Andrew S. and Mary Ann (Rushing) Fayard, under a license reported in the 26 APR 1930 issue of the Biloxi, Mississippi Sun Herald, page 6 (Newspapers.com). So, Delyla was 39 1/2 years of age when she married Elbert. Gene was born 21 months later, when she was 41. Or else, Gene may have come into the Elbert and Delyla House family via so other avenue, as per Blanche's obituary. Only the DNA knows for sure. DLB 2025.

She was buried in January 1971 in Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, Greene Co., OH, Findagrave #113033683.
