Kathryn Cutcher

Kathryn "Kay" R. Cutcher, 72, of Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 19, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. A. T. Washington officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Cutcher, the former Kathryn Rorris, was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Roswell, N.M., the daughter of George and Alba (Greever) Rorris. She married Lane C. Cutcher Aug. 14, 1952, in Folkston, Ga. He died Jan. 31, 1995, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Cutcher was of the Lutheran faith and was a longtime resident of Sioux City. She was very active politically with the Republican Party and attended the inaugurations of Presidents Reagan and Bush. She was also very active with Observation C-SPAN and appeared on the Phil Donahue Show and in People Magazine for this.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Scott Cutcher and Kari Hobbs-Cutcher of Mankato, Minn.; a brother, Ted Rorris, and his wife Olive of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Levine of Sioux City and Mrs. Larry (Maxine) Oberembt of Mundelein, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Noah, and twins Hannah and Hailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
