James Barbey

James Allen Barbey, 56, of Bonne Terre, passed away December 23, 1998, at his residence. He was born April 15, 1942 in St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae (Smith) Barbey.

He is survived by his wife, Connie (Dye) Barbey of Bonne Terre; father, Paul Barbey; two sons: Arron Thomas Scott and wife Tammy of Robertsville and Jason Allen Barbey of Bonne Terre; two daughters: Tanya Marie (Mrs. Patrick) Portell of Bonne Terre and Amanda Ellen Barbey of Bonne Terre; sister, Debra Lee of Bonne Terre; three grandchildren; mother-in-law, Helen Dye; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday at 5 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home, Bonne Terre. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel with Rev. Larry Allison officiating. Burial in the Bonne Terre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and Hospice Care Inc.

Note: Aaron Thomas Scott and Tanya Marie (Scott) Portell, mentioned in the above obituary are biological children of Aaron Scott and Connie Ruth Dye. It appears that they were formally or informally adopted by James Allen Barbey.
