COLFAX (PNS) -- L. Wayne Curry, 53, died at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. He had been ill.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colfax United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dorotha Russell officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax and an hour before the service at the church.
He was born July 31, 1927, at Colfax, a son of Norris and Bertha Hess Curry. He married Maribel Camp Oct. 26, 1947, at Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Paula Keith, Wiesbaden, Germany; Laura Culbertson, Hilltop Mobile Home Court, Bloomington; and Tamara Peifer, R.R. 3, Bloomington; his mother, Fairbury; a sister, Eileen Harris, Fairbury; and a grand-daughter.

Mr. Curry was a self-employed heavy equipment contractor for 15 years and a milk carrier for 17 years. He also was Martin Township road commissioner for 18 years.
He was a lifetime Colfax resident and a member of the Davis Kerber American Legion Post.

BLOOMINGTON - Maribel Curry, 92, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Bloomington.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11am at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be held from 10-11am at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Maribel is survived by her daughters, Laura (Dennis) Culbertson and Tamara Peifer. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Erin Ashleigh (Don) Smith, Sarah Peifer, Dana Peifer and Nicole Culbertson; one great grandson, Douglas (Whitney) Schelfe Tate Smith and one great-great- grandson; Elijah Tate Smith; sister, Guyneith Fox and a brother, Larry (Jan) Camp.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Paula Keith; three brothers Leland, Sam and Robert Camp and four sisters, Stella Brown, Nina Donahower, Ruth Slabaugh and Joan Leach.
Maribel was of the Methodist Faith. She worked for various companies throughout her life, Houdaille-Hershey Corporation, State Farm Insurance Company, Peoples Bank of Colfax, and The United Methodist Conference Office. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, painting, word puzzles, collecting M&M paraphernalia and going to the Miller Park Adult Center playing dominos and dancing.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Samuel Arthur Camp, 68, Magill Hotel, died at John Warner Hospital at 1:20 a.m. Sunday. His death was due to injuries received in a tractor accident Tuesday, May 28.
An employee of the state highway department four years Mr. Camp was cutting weeds along Route 54 west of Clinton, and was working alone at the time the accident happened.
After running over Mr. Camp, who was found by a passing motorist, the tractor overturned.
He was born in Friends Creek Township near Argenta in Macon County September 17, 1888, a son of Francis M. and Nellie Roney Camp. He married Madge Crane February 1, 1911 at Gifford.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Camp Decatur; Robert Camp Bloomington; six daughters, Mrs. Stella Brown and Mrs. Guyneith Estrop of Decatur; Mrs. Nina Donahour, Tallahassee, Florida; Mrs. Maribel Curry Colfax; Mrs. Ruth Slaybaugh, Normal; and Mrs. Joan Leach Bloomington; also several grandchildren.
He also leaves four brothers, Harry, Francis M. and L. E. Camp, all of Decatur; Charles L. Camp, Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Lindamood, Decatur; Mrs. Bessie Bradley, Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel, who died in World War II and Leland in 1954.
Mr. Camp was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic lodge of Maroa.
His funeral will be at the Herington funeral home in Clinton Tuesday, June 4 at 2 p.m. Rev. Cleo Grubbs, pastor of the Maroa Bible church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur.
