Jeannette PutneyNEWELL, Iowa -- Jeannette Putney, 73, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Newell, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Newell Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Methodist Church in Newell. Inurnment will be at a later date in Newell Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Newell.

Jeanette Carolyn John was born January 10, 1936 in Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Thelma (Wilson) John. She graduated from Osceola High School in Osceola, Iowa with the Class of 1953. On December 17, 1955, Jeannette was united in marriage to Claudius Ray Putney. The couple was blessed with five children: Andrea, Barton, Barry, Amy and Sara.
Jeannette will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother, caring sister and aunt, and a valued friend to many. May God bless her memory.
