Still Blast In Winery Is Fatal To Fresnan

FRESNO, Nov. 1. -- INS -- Roy Brown, 42, of Fresno died in the Fresno General Hospital yesterday as the result of a scalding he received last night when a section of a still exploded at the Italian Swiss Colony Winery.

Winery officals said Brown was manipulating a valve near the section which blew out and was scalded by escaping distilling syrup. A winery spokesman said another worker had stepped into an adjoining office a few moments before the blast and escaped injury.
