C. V. Games of 622 North Lafayette died Oct. 4 at 1:30 in his home following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 in the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen funeral home, with the Rev. Cortley Burroughs officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Games was born Nov. 22, 1873, in Prairie City, a son of Frank and Loraine Weaver Games. He married Miss Nora Snapp Sept. 3, 1893. A farmer all his life he retired in 1932.
Surviving are the widow; six sons, Alex Games and Ernest Games, both of Good Hope, G. A. Games of Victoria, Frank Games of Blandinsville, Vernon Games of Canton, Mo., and George Games of Memphis, Tenn., and a daughter, Mrs. Garnett Rose of Macomb; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Earnest Earl " Johnnie " Games was born on July 7, 1914 on a farm near Walnut Grove, Illinois to Nora ( Snapp ) & Cosago Vanward Games. He was born on the family farm as the last of the 7 children born to the couple.
His older siblings names were : Alexander Snapp, Golden Roy, Frank Earnest, Vernon Roscoe, Leo Vanward and Garnet Lucille.
His Ancestors came to America from England and France.
He served in the US Navy Seabee's in the Pacific during World War II and was discharged as a Chief Petty Officer. During one of his Navy Seabee leaves in Macomb, he met M. Irene ( Plank) Holmes.
He was a heavy equipment operator at Local 649 for 60 years. He also farmed in the Good Hope area.
He married M. Irene Plank on August 12, 1950 in Kahoka, Missouri. During their 52 years of marriage, they enjoyed many mutual interests such as : raising & showing Quarterback horses, having pet Boxers, spending hours on the Citizen Band Radio, camping, hunting, fishing and traveling. Their most favorite love was for each other.
As they retired and spent summers camping with a group of family and friends they enjoyed the laughter and familiarity of friendship. They began spending their winters camping in Florida in their AirStream camper. Then as more friends and family became 'snowbirds', they spent the winters together in Brownsville, Texas.
Irene preceded Johnnie in death on April 8, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; one sister and a step-son.
Earnest E. " Johnnie " Games, 97 years 5 months 21 days, of Macomb lived in his home at 1601 East Jackson Street Lot # 60 until this fall, when He passed away at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Games (James) DeRosa of Colchester; step-son, James (Patricia) Baker of Idaho and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Don Riley officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope where full military rites were conducted at the cemetery by the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb V.F.W.
Memorials to be made to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.
He was buried in Good Hope Cemetery, Good Hope, McDonough Co., IL, Findagrave #82687684.
Earnest Earl Games began military service WW II service, U.S. Navy, CPO, Pacific Theater.

Mildred Irene Plank was born on August 31, 1918 as the 3rd ( and last ) child of Mary (Barrett) & Marion Elmer Plank. She was born on the family farm located in Scotland Township, McDonough County, Illinois.
As a child, Irene developed a love for horses that would continue throughout the remainder of her life. She often stated that she was riding horses almost as soon as she learned how to walk. She rode to & from school every day & often volunteered to bring the dairy cows back to the barn for milking, if she could ride her horse in order to perform the task.
As an adult, Irene became active in all aspects of owning horses. Her husband had a new building with stalls, tack room and large arena buildt in order for her to keep & work her horses. She purchased, trained, showed & raised Registered Quarterhorses for many years. She received many trophies, ribbons and cash prizes with her beloved companions.
A love of the outdoors was the influence for Irene & her husband, Johnny, to purchase a camping trailor. Together they spent many happy hours camping with friends & family. During the latter part of her years, Johnny & Irene spent their winters in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by friends & some family members. She & her husband always enjoyed traveling and making new friends.

M. Irene Games, 83, Macomb, died at 8:59 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Elms Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Scotland Township, McDonough County, the daughter of Marion E. and Mary Barrett Plank. She married Ernest E. "Johnny" Games Aug. 12, 1950, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives. She is also survived by one son, Gerald Holmes, Colchester; one step daughter, Ruth Games DeRosa, Colchester; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mrs. Vera Kellum; and one brother, Gail Plank.
She was a graduate of lndustry High School and was a member of the Doddsville United Methodist Church. She and her husband lived in Macomb, Good Hope, Blandinsville and Ipava before moving back to Macomb in 1995. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2002, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mildred Irene Plank Games was 83 years 7 months 8 days old when she passed away.
