Obituary -- Snapp
Martha Ann Francis was born in Virginia on the 6th day of January, 1835, and died at her home in Ozawkie July 9, 1910, aged 75 years, 6 mos. and 3 days.
On the 29th day of February, 1854, at Davenport, Iowa, she was united in marriage with Madison Snapp. To this union were born seven children, six of whom survive her, Newton, Arthur, and Sylvester Snapp, and Mrs. S. H. Steffey of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Belle Kershaw of New York, and Mrs. Dora Cain of Newman. With her husband she lived in Jefferson county more than 45 years and nearly all this time in or near Ozawkie. She was a faithful companion and a kind and loving mother who will now be greatly missed by the sorrowing husband and children. In early childhood she was converted and united with the Methodist church. Nineteen years ago Sister Snapp, with her husband, united with the Seventh Day Adventists, to which church she was faithful until her death.
All that loving hands could do was done to relieve her suffering but 17 days from the time of her accident her spirit returned to the Lord who gave it. The funeral services were attended by a large number of friends and neighbors, and were conducted from the Dunkard church. The remains were laid to rest in the Ozawkie cemetery.
Word of comfort based on 2nd Samuel 14:14 were spokien by the writer, assisted by Eld. H. L. Brammell of the Dunkard church.
Elder W. A. Easley.

Artie Snapp, 90, Died Saturday in St. Joseph
______________
Well-Known Old-Timer Had Lived Here for About 40 Years
______________
Arthur L. Snapp, 90, one of King City’s oldest citizens and a resident here more than forty years, died Saturday at Missouri Methodist hospital, St. Joseph, after a brief serious illness. Hi funeral was held here Wednesday afternoon at the Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. F. Edward Carter, minister, and burial was in the King City cemetery. Special music at the funeral was by Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Berry.
“Artie” Snapp, as he was more familiarly known, was born Feb. 27, 1861 near Greenbush, Warren County, Ill., a son of Robert M. and Clarissa Snapp. In 1872 he was brought by his parents to a farm near Winslow in DeKalb county, and there he grew to young manhood and began his career as a farmer. Later he moved to Union Star, where for twenty years he was associated with his brother-in-law the late Hugh Stanton in the hardware and inplement (sic) business. After that he engaged in the real estate and bluegrass business until frail health forced his retirement a few years ago.
In 1912 Mr. Snapp married Miss Myrtle Estes Ross of Fairport, who preceded him in death May 15, 1931. They lived in Fairport a short time before moving to King City, where he spent the remainder of his life except the last eight months which were spent in a rest home in St. Joseph. One of the oldest living members of the Christian church here, he attended church services faithfully as long as his health permitted. His business operations where conducted over a wide territory, throughout which he established many lasting friendships, and his happiest hours in recent years were spent visiting with friends.

NOTE:
Obituary of Mehittabel (Andrews) Myrick
The Peoples Herald, Lyndon, Osage County, Kansas; Thursday, 30 JAN 1913, page 1 (Newspapers.com):
MRS. MEHITTABEL MYRICK
Mrs. Mehittabel Myrick was born in Vinton county, Ohio, March 30, 1841 and died at 7:35 p.m. Monday, January 20, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Ina Felch, North Lyndon, aged 71 years, 9 months and 20 days. Death was caused by cerebral hemorrhage, producing partial paralysis, and attendant complications. She was one of a family of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Eben E. Andrews and grew to womanhood in the county where she was born and where, when she was scarcely nineteen, she was united in marriage to Monroe Myrick on Feb. 2, 1860. By this union she became the gracious and sacrificing mother of six sons and six daughters, one of the former dying in infancy, the other eleven still survive her to mourn her loss.
Shortly after marriage, she with her husband and family moved to Polk county, Iowa, where they remained six years when they moved to Kansas in 1868, locating on a farm east of Lyndon, forty-four years ago, thus it it (sic) shown that Mrs. Myrick has been one of the sacrificing pioneer mothers whose industry, example and interest has made this section the desirable place in which we now live, blessed with schools, churches and a progressive civilization.
In her mature years, she was brought to a knowledge of the saving grave of a risen Savior and united with the Christian sect, retaining her membership therein till her death. She was a good neighbor, a true friend, a faithful wife and a helpful and indulgent mother. Her life’s companion preceded her to the World Beyond by nearly twelve years, passing away May 20, 1901.
Short services were held at the home of Mrs. Ina Felch on Wednesday morning, after which the body was taken to her old homestead where more formal and fitting observance in honor of the loved dead were conducted by Rev. F. E. Haughey of the Christian church. She was laid to rest in the Deaver Cemetery by the side of that of her husband, to the plighted vows with whom she had ever been true and faithful.
Those ministering to her needs and comfort during her last illness and present at the obsequies were Harvey Myrick of Springdale, Ark.; Mrs. Mattie Goff of Cody, Wyoming; Vinton Myrick of Oakland; Mrs. H. S. Seyler of Lyndon; Chas. Myrick of Topeka; Albert Myrick of Tecumseh; Mrs. Gertie Bristow of Scranton; Clevelan Myrick of Lyndon and Mrs. Ina Felch of Lyndon. Those absent and unable to be present were the daughters, Mrs. Arvilla Morris of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Artie Hufford of Columbus, Montana. There also are four brothers and one sister who sorrow with those who lament her going. M. B. Andrews of Big Heart, Okla., was present at the obsequies.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of the whole community in the loss they have sustained.
