Charlotte Louise Johns Sutton, 77, of Bradenton, Florida, started her new journey in life on September 13, 2009. Born in Springfield, Ohio on August 15, 1932, she traveled to all parts of the world, until finally residing in Bradenton. A fiercely independent lady, who raised three children all by herself while working at her own tax practice for many years before health problems forced her to retire. She is survived by her son Dann, grandson, Zack, both of St. Augustine; her daughter Betsy and grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lauren. She was predeceased by children Bethany and Donn. One of her life passions was auto racing. She passed this love down to her son Dann and grandson Zack. Zack is in his second year of college pursuing a degree in automobile engineering. Her other passions included watching championship tennis, the US Open being her favorite. Her other grandson Jeffrey is soon to be a father while granddaughter Lauren has a passion for horses she got from both her Mom and Grandmother. Charlotte, always the practical person, wished for no formal ceremony. However, the family will contact friends and relatives for a celebration dinner to be held at a later date. The family wants to thank the extraordinary efforts of John Odom, her personal caregiver, who tirelessly cared for Charlotte 24 hours a day, seven days a week. She will also be missed by her other "daughter" of 33 years, Terri Allen. Arrangements are being taken care of by Covell Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her name to Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, Fl. 34238. "You are my sunshine...my only sunshine."
