Jessie Irene Laisure, 93, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria County.
Born Aug. 10, 1907, in Wells County, Ind., to Robert Homer and Viola Bouse Carter, she married Corliss E. Laisure on Jan. 30, 1926, in Berne, Ind. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (and Shirley) Laisure and Corliss Laisure; and two daughters, Permilla (and Robert) Johnson and Patricia Emerick.
She and her husband owned and operated the Phillips 66 station in Laura.
Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

Mrs. Ellen Berry Died Sunday; Funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Ellen Berry, 88, who had lived the most of her life in Story county, died Sunday afternoon at 5:30 at the Story County Home where she had been confined since July 26, 1925 having been transferred there from the state hospital for the insane at Clarinda, where she had been committed for treatment November 21, 1922.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Morfoot Funeral home and burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.
She was the widow of the late Isaac Berry who died in 1927. Her marriage to Mr. Berry was her second and she leaves at this time two sons and one daughter in Nevada, they being Fred Shandlemier, generally known as Fred Berry, Isaac Berry and Mrs. Susie Epperly.
