Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):

Mansfield - Eileen Mae Gruneisen passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Country Meadow Care Center at the age of 100.

She was born June 5, 1921 in Mansfield to M. Ann and Clarence Heimberger. She moved to Indiana as a young child and graduated from Hammond High School. She continued her education at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. During these years she was raised by her loving step-father, Millard F. Akers.

She moved back to Mansfield where she married Bruce Gruneisen, May 2, 1942. While he served in the Navy during WW II she worked at Westinghouse. Her job was to buck rivets on wing flaps for airplanes.

After the war they moved to Mansfield Washington Road where they raised their family. They had gardens and Eileen canned fruits and vegetables. She loved cooking and baking and trying new recipes. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting, and knitting.

She was a charter member of the Fellowship Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for many years. During much of that time she also taught the beginner Sunday School class. Later in life she began teaching piano and for many years gave lessons to area children and even a few adults. This gave her great joy.
