Josephine Shuey was born on 23 December 1860 in Missouri Josephine is listed as age 12 on the 1870 census of Boeuf Twp., Franklin County, Missouri, living with John and Deborah Shuey. Inasmuch as Deborah was listed as age 65, she was not the mother of Josephine, but rather it appears that John and Deborah were Josephine's grandparents. The only son of John and Deborah Shuey was James Monroe Shuey, as evidenced by the 1850 and 1860 censuses, and his marriage and children are well documented. Apparently Josephine was an out-of-wedlock child of one of the Shuey's daughters. DLB 2020.1 She married Roland Davault, son of Samuel Harvey Davault and Alvira Foley, about 1876. Josephine Shuey died on 28 July 1946

Mrs. Josephine Davault, 85, Dies in St. James

Mrs. Josephine Davault passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thos. R. Drennen, at 4 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 1946, at the age of 85 years. Her husband, a Civil War veteran, preceded her in death 59 years ago.

She leaves to mourn her loss: two sons and two daughters - Mrs. Mollie Gorman and W. H. Davault of St. Louis, and John A. Davault and Mrs. Lillie Drennen of St. James, Mo.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as many loving friends.

The funeral was held at Licklider's Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 30, 1946 at 2 o'clock, with Rev. E. D. Johnson, minister; Miss Gertrude Greinke, soloist; Doyle Thompson, accompanist.

Burial was made in the Masonic Cemetery.

She was buried in 1946 in Saint James Cemetery, St. James, Phelps Co., MO, Findagrave #86134626.

Mrs. Virginia Gorman Blick, 36, wife of Roy A. Blick, died at a Norfolk hospital at 9:10.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Georgia Anne Blick and a son, Roy A. Blick Jr., both of Norfolk; her father, Headlee Gorman, and a sister, Mrs. Elmer Anderson, both of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Blick was a native of St. James, Mo., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 16 years, residing at 522 New York Avenue. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Native of Norfolk, VA; son of Roy Allen Blick, Sr. and Virginia Gorman Blick; husband of 41 years of Anna Rebecca "Becky" McAbee Blick.

Retired from Frank Hall Tire Company after 32 years of service; member of Roebuck Presbyterian Church, a former Deacon and Sunday School teacher; a past member of the Spartanburg Lions Club, worked part time as a musician with local dinner and dance banks, and was an avid work worker and craftsman.

Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2001 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Dr. Fred D. Thompson and the Rev. Lee Moseley.
