Age 76, of Canton, passed away Sunday August 6, 2017 in Aultman Hospital.

She was born December 23, 1940 in Monroe County to Ellis W. and Ethel M. (Leach) Carpenter. Linda was formerly employed by Ruslee’s Restaurant for many years and operated a home cleaning service. She Is preceded in death by her father, Ellis W. Carpenter; her husband, George S. Curlutu in 2009; one sister, Mary Sullivan.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Patti Curlutu; a special nephew who Linda raised, Richie Sullivan; seven grandchildren, Alex, Nate, Casey, Jesse, Freddy, Trisha and Emily; her mother, Ethel Carpenter; two sisters, Sandy (Larry) Wells and Shirley Dyer; one brother, David Carpenter. A memorial service will be Thursday August 10, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Delaney Young officiating.

STARK COUNTY -- Mary L. Sullivan, age 58, of 3633 Highview, Canton, OH, formerly of Barnesville, OH, died Saturday, March 10, 2002 in Canton.

She was born April 27, 1942 in Barnesville, OH, daughter of Ethel (Leach) Carpenter of Barnesville and the late Ellis Carpenter. She was a member of the Barnesville American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Richard Sullivan; a daughter, Kandy Sullivan; and a granddaughter, Mary Margaret Sullivan. Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, Emmett Sullivan of Canton; four daughters, Mandy Sullivan, Mindy Sullivan and Gretchen Boyer, all of Canton and Mrs. Jim (Melissa) Shannon of Dalton, OH; a brother, David Carpenter of Barnesville; three sisters, Linda Curluter and Sandra Wells, both of Canton and Shirley Dyer of North Canton; ten grandchildren.

Friends will be received TODAY from 11 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, OH, with Pastor Mike McFarren officiating. Interment follows in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.

BARNESVILLE---Barney Leach, 540 Hilles Ave., died at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday in Barnesville Hospital.

Born Sept. 13, 1895, in Monroe County, he was the son of Samuel and Angelic Leach. A veteran of World War I, he was a post member of the Barnesville Post VFW.

He leaves his wife, Grace; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Wehr and Mrs. Ethel Carpenter, Barnesville, and Mrs. Cledith Carpenter, Summerfield; a son Jack of Barnesville; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Acel and Arch, both of Quaker City and Ellis of Summerfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Harriett Carpenter, Uhrichsville, Mrs. Jennie Flood, Hopewell and Mrs. Kate Floyd, Zanesville; a son Danford, three brothers and a sister are deceased.

Friends are being received at Campbell Funeral Home here where services will be held at 1P.M. Thursday with Evang. Richard Pryor officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Burkhart. Surviving in addition to his mother of Barnesville are two sons, Dud Dyer and Lump Dyer of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Eric (Mye) Kieffer of N.
