William S. Cook died Sunday about noon at his late residence in the pine section of the County, following an extended illness from heart trouble, aged 56 years. He was a man of thrift and a most excellent citizen esteemed by a host of friends. He is survived by his widow and several children. There are two sisters, Mrs M. M. Gregory and Mrs. Bernard Richards, and one brother. Issac Cook. The funeral service was conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home, the Rev. T. M. McChesney, of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was in Taylor graveyard several miles from the home. The Palbearers were: W. Roseberry, Lacy Taylor, Wyatt Calfee, Ernest, John and Ephriam Sayers. Tuesday, April 10, 1923, Southwest Times, Pulaski, Virginia.

She is survived by three sons James Irvin Cook. Draper; John W. Cook, Pulaski; and Ernest Cook, Portsmouth; and six daughters: Mrs. Audrey T Chrisley, Mrs. Kva Kate Lawson, Mrs. Lucinda K. Rev. William Clarence Cook, 69, of 641 Fifth St., NE, Pulaski, died Monday, Aug. 14, 1995, in the Pulaski Community Hospital.
Born in Draper on June 9, 1926, he was the son of the late John William Cook and Virginia Windle Cook.
He was a veteran of World War having served in the United States Army where he was wounded in action in the Philippine.
Rev. Cook was a member and Chaplain of VFW Post #1184, Pulaski, and a member of the American Legion Post #7, Pulaski. He was a member of the Draper's Valley Baptist Church and was the pastor of Brookmont Presbyterian Church, Brookmont Road, Pulaski.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth R. Cook of Pulaski; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and James Kidd of Dublin; one sister, Mrs. Clyde (Nancy) Thompson of Pulaski; one brother, George Cook of Chester; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew Kidd of Dublin.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday from the Draper's Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Wilfred Overton and the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pulaski County, with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Draper's Valley Baptist Church. Stevens Funeral Home Inc., Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements.
