Biography

Alice Kirkendall was born about 1855 in Harrison Twp., Licking Co., OH.1

Note: In the Kirkendall Bible photos, this individual is annotated "Allie Kirkendall Paget", but no information about her ancestry was passed down to the generation of Olive Rodgers. This Alice was clearly born some 7 years after the death of James W. Kirkendall. If "Pagett" was her father's surname, then a candidate would be the Eli Pagett, age 32, born Maryland, carpenter, living in the hotel in Kirkersville, in the 1860 census, p.281A. Delilah (Gilmore) Kirkendall was the owner/manager of the general store in Kirkersville at this time. But it is also possible that Paget was Alice's married name. (DLB 2005.)
