Lewis Deane Kiphart, 88, of Blanchester, died Monday (June 22, 2009). He is survived by his wife, Lida Bayes of Blanchester. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Easton Kiphart, who died Feb. 18, 2004.
Mr. Kiphart was born June 7, 1921, in Morrow, son of the late John Lewis Kiphart and Blanche E. Vandervort. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blanchester.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons; a daughter, of Blanchester; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole Bays, who died Oct. 29, 2007.
Funeral services will be held from 11 a.m. Monday at TUFTS-SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Pastor Ralph Cole officiating, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 22, Blanchester, 45107.

Dr. Carole Annette Kiphart-Bays (October 10, 1966 - October 29, 2007)
Dr. Carole Annette Kiphart-Bays 41, of Artemus, Kentucky, was born on October 10, 1966 in Wilmington, Ohio. She was a daughter of Lewis Dean Kiphart and the late Norma Jean Easton Kiphart.
Dr. Bays died at her residence, Monday, October 29, 2007. Dr. Bays was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she received her pre-medical degree. She received her medical degree at Wright State Medical School in Dayton, Ohio and served her medical residency at the University of Louisville Medical Center.
She owned and operated her practice specializing in radiology.
On November 18, 2000, she united in marriage to John Bays and to this union a beloved son was born.
Dr. Bays will be best remembered of her love for horses. She was a member of the America Quarter Horse Association, the International Barrel Racing Association, the National Cutting Horse Association and National Pole Bending Association. Horses were her life and work was her hobby.
She is survived by her husband, John, and her son, Bryce of Artemus; her father, Lewis Kiphart of Blanchester, Ohio; her Sister, Kristie Kiphart, of Blanchester, Ohio; her Brothers; Daryl Kiphart and wife, Kim of Moscow, Ohio; Anthony Kiphart and wife, Cherry of Loveland, Ohio; Bruce Kiphart of Sardinia, Ohio; and Eric Kiphart and wife, Donna of Blanchester, Ohio;
her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Rufus and Ruth Bays of Artemus and many other dear and loving family members and friends.
Funeral Services for Dr. Bays will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Joe Bradshaw, Rev. Shannon Hall and Rev. Shawn Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Sowders Cemetery at Artemus, with loving family members serving as pallbearers. The Bays Family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home, Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday unitl the hour of service at 1:30 p.m. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
She was buried in October 2007 in Sowders Family Cemetery, Artemus, Knox Co., KY, Findagrave #74816681.
